My period is a week late (reposted from chat)

I posted this in chat and was recommended to post here instead so I'm just pasting in what I wrote there, hope you can help!

I was going to name change but I can't actually be arsed faffing about I have done a pregnany test (or few blush) and on one I got a positive BUT about 40 mins later the line disappeared...since then negative test. I have 33 day cycles, so long anyway but I'm on day 40 tomorrow.

I'm really frustrated as I don't know what's going on. No period at all and I don't feel like I'm going to come on either.

What's going on?! I even wore white knickers as we all know you always come on when you wear white knickers wink. Seriously though, it is annoying now. All I've had is some aches and a little crampiness but nothing usual. Sigh.

Do another test and only take into consideration what line there is in the period you are supposed to check. Don't check after that.

Thanks, I will do that, I suppose I should still call the drs if I don't come on though (assuming I get a negative test)?

its rare to get a false positive. Test again and take the result at the time it says in the instructions. If its a negative, try again in a couple of days. Still nagative and no period give GP a call. hth
