Af, honestly I feel about 15!!

Just got my period, about 3 days late. Does that mean the egg definitley wasn't fertilised, or could my body be doing the natural thing if something wasn't quite right? Only ask as we have got genetic issues to contend with so trying to figure out if its a fertility issue or the genetic thing.

Oh I wish I knew more about biology!

It could mean either but most probably means the egg wasn't fertilised.

From memory a late period can be an early miscarriage or it can be late because of delayed ovulation (delayed ov can happen when you've been ill or stressed).

If you really want to know more about biology I highly recommend a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Once read, you realise how much you didn't know about your own body
