I had a bad cold over Winter.
Period was 2 weeks late.
Was it down to my illness?
Also starting new job soon and am worried that this will hinder my chances of ttc.

Any words of advice?

Not your period no, but ovulation. If you're ill or stressed this can delay ovulation and then obviously your period will be late too but it's not your period that's late iyswim. It is also possible to not ovulate at all in a given cycle, just randomly- this is normal- and that can make your period appear late.
