Hi

I have just took a ebay cheapie preg test and there was the faintest of faint (and i mean squint under the brightest light) to see it! even dh admitted he could just about see it!

The thing is my af is not due for 5 more days and so am worried that I was either seeing things or it was a faulty test.

I was hoping really for any advice or stories of experiences simular to this and what the outcome was? Also never used the ebay cheapies before and wondered how reliable they are??

hcg levels vary so much at this point that the only way of knowing is to wait say 2 days(hcg doubles every 48hours approx) and test again, Then if thats not very clear test again when your due. I have tested with ebay cheapies with both my children and with this pg-I had a positive 3 days before i was due on, very faint, i tested when i was due on, much clearer.

Hi there,

I used Ebay cheapies too and tested at 10DPO (normally come on between 14DPO and 16DPO). I actually threw the test away thinking it was -ive, but then for no reason whatsoever, suddenly retrieved it from the bin to see the faintest faintest (like you're describing) line.

Tested again at 14DPO and it was much darker! Had had an MC the month before so was thrilled to see a darker line!

My 7 month old DD (first baby) was the result!!

Good luck! (A line is a line...).

xx

Thanks you both for you replies!

I haave took another test this monring and could not see anything so am keeping my fingers crossed for when i re-test in about 3 days!

I will keep you both updated. The only difference i can see between the 2 tests i have done is that although they are both e-bay cheapies they are different makes so not sure weather that would have anything to do with it?

I should really have waitied before testing

thanks again

You need to bear in mind that the early testing ones are different strengths, some are more sensitive than others. I took an Ultra-Sensitive one, which could be like the first one that you took. (Looks like a proper test - not like the cardboard-strip type ones that you can buy).

Bear in mind also, that they are designed so that you will ONLY get a line if there is HCG in your urine. You can get a false negative but it is very rare to get a false positive - hope that makes you feel a little better!

Good luck! I'm not actually TTC anymore as I now have a 7 month old DD, but I like to see what's going on on here, so I will pop back in a few days and see you get another line!
