Hello,

We're TTC no2. When TTC1 I used to chart, but this time round to keep stress levels to a minimum I'm only doing the odd bit.

Today I'm CD34, my longest cycle for the last 7 months was last month at CD33 (AF arrived CD34), the average over the 7 months is 32 days.

I took a test on NYE and it was a BFN.

The thing is, DC1 has lost my thermometer (he thought it was a drumstick), so the past couple of days I've been using a normal digital fever therm.

Today my temp is 36.8, which is high for me, I know this means it could be anywhere from 36.75 to 36.84 so not accurate but nevertheless for me anything above 36.5 usually means I've ovulated.

My question is (after this really long ramble) can the fever thermometer mean the same, if I had taken my temp with a BBT would it have been between 36.75 and 36.84 or am I missing something?

I've not HPTs in the house so will have to go get some.

I'm just thinking if AF was round the corner, surely the temp would start dropping.

Any comments greatly appreciated, sorry for the ramble.

I meant to say, it's been around 36.8 for the last 4 days, I think I ovulated around day 21 but can't be sure.

Changing thermometer does mean that you can't rely on the temps, but having said that, if you are using a thermometer in the same way (eg in the mouth or whereever) then it does sound hopeful for you as the temp is not dropping yet! Hope you get a test today.

good morning! bare with me as i have only just joined the temp club 2 days ago.

i know what you're saying about keeping stress levels low so you dont want to get fixated on temps etc but without it you will never know if you ovulated and yes you could be pregnant and hormones are not enough to show on a test, but give yourself a break. you cant be thinking what ifs all month.

we started ttc 7 months ago and i started off with 2 52 day cycles so i know about looking and those horrible negatives as i tested all the time. now i have learnt to only listen to the facts. if a test says negative, month 8 it will have to be.

sorry i cant be much help not really got my head around temps yet.

Congratulations!. It did sound good with high temps, just put the thermometer away now.
