I had a positive result with clearblue digital at 12dpo/4 days past implantation. Yay! Then had faint positives with different tests and then, yesterday afternoon, after three cups of tea and half pint of orange juice, got two bfns on clearblue digital. Panic. Went to docs. She called to say blood test for beta hcg was positive at 9.17 - normal for one week gestation and I know still in the range for 2 weeks. I should be two weeks, min. But I did get a positive on clearblue digital this morning. To be honest, the chances are this is a chemical pregnancy with declining hcg BUT does anyone have a similar story who went on the have a successful pregnancy? I know I'm clutching at straws. AF is 4 days late now btw.

Why do you think that this pregnancy is not going to last? Every test that you have taken (with the exception of tests taken in the afternoon after flooding your body with excess liquid) is saying that you are pregnant and your period is late. Have you got a history of chemical pregnancies?

FWIW I got a false negative with clearblue digitals when not using early morning pee.

Hiya, thanks for replying so quickly . Just had two chemical pgs in a row so am even more neurotic than usual. I'll keep on hoping!

If you got a postive on a digital this morning then the hcg must be higher than 9 - don't they pick up over about 25? Fingers crossed for you that it is increasing!

If you still have the negative digital test then you can break them open and see what the line looks like inside.

When I was pg with my dd I did a sainsburys own test which was positive. I was very shocked so went out to the shop and bought a clear blue digital one which said that I wasn't pg. I opened it up and there was a faint line but obviously not enough to activate the digital reading. I waited until the next day and got a positive. She is now 3.5

With ds I didn't get a positive test until 5 days after my period was due despite testing very morning because I felt pregnant. I thought I was going mad

Hope your pg sticks this time and that you have a smooth and uneventful pregnancy

nulgirl, the digital sticks always have two lines inside - that isn't the bit that activates the reading - I think it's explained on peeonastick.com

Ah, peeonastick.com. That site is a hoot! I do like to dismantle a test. DH thinks I'm crazy, which is a bit right.

Had a bit of brown spotting now and am off to obgyn this afternoon. We'll see if the hcg has gone up enough or if it's time to wait for AF .
