I fon't have periods, I'm on the pill - take them without a break.

I've been having pregnancy symptoms for ages, a few months back I did a test neg, so thats that I thought, but continued to be tired, funny smells, funny tastes.

I keep throwing up, feeling nauseous, having tummy cramps.

Now I've started to get those 'shooting pains' up my fanjo, them pregnacy omes? LOADS of CM hte sort I get when PG. and my tummys gone huge and hard, yes its christmas it could be mince pies, but I'm not sure.

did another £1 (the earlier one was the same) last weeg, was neg i think,

is it worth getting a dearer one?
I'm just fed up,

i thought that was it but someone said if im a bit further along HGC levels might have gone dwn?

Now feeling sickly again, shooting pains, period type cramps, so so tired.

Bloody shite this is.

diselfchanted i would definitely get down to the GPs and ask to be referred for blood tests and possibly a scan. they will prob have a feel of your abdomen aswell to see they can palpate anything
TBH the sytoms canbe purely hormonal too so you mightnt be preg ones they just sound ominous

lucybrad · 28/12/2009 16:22

def get down the docs, if your not pg then there is definately somthing up probably hormaonal but best to be safe and get checked

why are you taking the pill without a break (out of interest)?

I also take the bill without a break = no periods.

But I have learned that if I don't have a break every 6 months then I start getting dreadful cramps and shooting pains. So every 6 months, I have to let myself have a period (which I hate as I get an awful migraine and various other hideous symptoms) but it's the only way I can survive period free for the rest of the year.

If you can, I'd let yourself have a period.

DisElfchanted3 · 30/12/2009 16:46

thats what i do, its been 4-5 months so i am due one, but dont usually get this.

i have dreadful periods and get very ill with migranes when i have one so go 6 months between.

foxinsocks · 30/12/2009 16:52

so do I, you're the first person I've met who gets this

which pill are you on?

I have swapped to Yazmin as I found I got similar side effects to you with other pills. I was always convinced I was pregnant!

MrsMorgan · 30/12/2009 16:55

I also do the 6mths and then have a break, because as foxy said, if I don't then I get really bad cramps and very painful hip pain in the night.

I'd ask for a blood test Dis, put your mind at rest.

Northernlebkuchen · 30/12/2009 16:55

I don't think you're pregnant. I think your hormones are acting up on you as a result of taking the pill long term without a break. The combined pill is not designed for that - nor is your body - and whilst a lot of people seem to do it is common sense that eventually this will make you feel unwell. Is there nothing else you can do for the migraines - have you been seen at a hospital headache clinic?

DisElfchanted3 · 30/12/2009 16:56

femodene,

have been on about 5 and thisa one gives me the leasttroble whilst taking it but still have the migranes on the break. The others all gave me migranes whilst taking them too.

I had a mirena fitted and initially I had very light periods, each month got lighter - after 4 months just a couple of days of spotting, and after 6 months no periods at all. GP said thats normal and one of reasons why people like it. Maybe worth trying?

I had tried taking combined pill without a break before but never managed more than 3 packs before I started getting funny side effects.

DisElfchanted3 · 30/12/2009 18:41

I won't have a coil fitted or the implant, thankyou though

Any chance of dh having the snip? It sounds like any sort of hormonal contraception is going to be problematic for you. At least then you could chuck everything at the periods without having the complication of pill side effects muddying the waters as it were.

foxinsocks · 30/12/2009 19:01

no, I wouldn't do mirena. That's what caused my migraines in the first place.

I got progressively more sensitive to the pills. Yazmin is one of the newer ones, might be worth trying it.

the problem with hormonal migraines is that it seems the best way to treat them is to keep your hormones stable all month (by constantly taking the pill). This is the treatment that has worked the best for me - can't speak for Elf but this is the principle behind it iyswim.

Disenchanted3 · 30/12/2009 19:26

I agree fox, I'm extremely weary of any hormonal based contraception, especially where its not easy to quit or remove quickly.

DH is only 24 so im not sure they would do it or if he is will, its also very, very final

I was toying with trying natural contraception with a monitor, ov sticks, charting etc.... but its a big risk if I get it wrong.

Maybe I'll just go celibate? eh?

Definatly something weird going on, amd thinking I may have IBS or something? Nausea, vomiting, tummy cramps, night time sickness (ie number of hours after main meal) ?!

Disenchanted3 · 30/12/2009 19:27

I had a lie in yesterday till 10:30 am after going to bed at 9pm! I went to my sisters and by 4 in the after noon I had to go to bed at her house for 40 mins as I was seriouly almost in tears because I was so tired!

Northernlebkuchen · 30/12/2009 19:40

Maybe you need a blood test for anaemia? Also don't underestimate how mental stress can manifest itself in physical symptoms - you have had a bit of stress lately haven't you?

Disenchanted3 · 05/01/2010 10:43

Yes, ive ordered a testy on the net, i feel really ill right now, it just comes in waves, i was fine 10 mins ago, also ive put alot of weight on, i so hope im not
