Any thoughts on my weird period?

Hi, Just finished my period and it was so weird. It started on Sunday evening about 10pm and started a heavy flow and bright red. It stayed heavy and bright red until late last night so lasted almost exactly 48 hours. The cramps I usually get on day 3 or so came immediately when it started but were less severe (but still bad) than usual. And that's it - no tailing off, nothing. Just stopped.

I also had a metallic taste in my mouth for a week starting the Tues before my period and ending as my period ended.

I know I am not pregnant (a period is a period - I've done enough implantation hoping in the past) and my temp is now below cover line and metallic taste stopped but just wanted to share this with you to see if any answers? It is also my first post HSG period so that could have messed things up.

Still, a 48 hour heavy bright red period struck me as odd.

Anyone?

no, its just weird! actually my last one was like that full on then nothing after 48 hrs. usually i am a 4-5 day sort of girl. But i figure its just lack of a mirena mucking me up!

so annoying though isn't it - just when you think you know what your body is doing it does something else...

Hah. I had a period 12 days ago and I'm pregnant. Got a test to prove it and everything. My "period" came a week early, was about 3 days rather than my usual 5, and a bit lighter and yes, redder.

I may not still be pregnant, having blood tests to check as I've got spotting all over again. But I can at least say that 'period' does not necessarily equal not pregnant.

Hi muser - congratulations!!! Wow. Hope it's all okay with the spotting - some people just bleed.

I can't be pregnant - temps are consistently low. Though how I wish I was.

Turns out my metallic taste may have been due to a gas leak!!! (Fixed now - a bit scary though).

ps Though of course I am trying to be sensible I wish I were pregnant despite my period. Was your bleeding heavy (mine was) and also bright red (mine was).

Ok, way TMI about my period! It came a week early. Was lighter than my usual period, more like the periods I used to get on the pill. I normally have to change my mooncup 3-4 times a day, but I got away with 1-2 times. It was shorter. The blood was very red and mucusy. Nice.

If you're curious, just POAS. At least then you wouldn't question it.
