Am 42, have a 3.5 year old ds, ttc #2. Regular periods, which, since returning after ds' birth, have been heavy for a couple of days, stop for a couple of days, then return as very dark brown. The clots have been getting bigger and this round were VERY big - is this hormonal? What does it mean? We've had lots of tests, as we're heading towards ivf, and they can find nothing wrong. I'm convinced there's a hormonal imbalance, and am hoping someone can point me in the right direction to get this sorted. Or, tell me that it's all perfectly normal, and not to stress about it.

bumping for you as have no idea. I expect only those that have experienced this will comment, and looks like it doesnt happen to many. Also the difficult thing is exactly how big the clots are. I used to get loads, but this was usual for me so I dont think of them as particurary big (not like the ones after I gave birth yuk!) I hear that the brown blood is old blood that pools and then comes out at a later time....
