Came off Microgynon 10months ago. Im 32.
Is this normal. We have sex around 4 times a week (just cos we cant keep our hands off each other).

Periods are normal and regular. 31-32 cycle.

I did have an ovarian cyst over 10 years ago. They saved the ovary. Would that have a bearing?

I have used a ovulation predictor stick one month just to see if I was actually ovulating- I was.

I am slightly over weight. Im 5 ft 4 and a size 14 top (size 16 bottom). Would that have an impact on my fertility.

Just looking for some reasureance or tips from you ladies!

think it only counts as taking a long time if it's over 18mo to conceive.

If you know you're ovulating then surely there can't be a problem with the ovary?

You're not really that overweight. 16 is the average uk size now.

afaik it's when you're drastically overweight that it impacts on fertility.

Though I guess it wouldn't hurt to lose some before you get pregnant- takes a lot longer to lose after!

Anyway just wanted to reply to you really..

I would be paying a visit to the doctor at this stage and tell him you have been ttc for a year. Usually GPs like to see couples after 12 months of ttc without success.

The ovarian cyst problem you had 10 years ago may possibly have some bearing on the ttc issue (possible adhesions resulting from surgery post op are a problem); you really do need to speak to a cons gynae about this though. GP won't necessarily know anything on such matters so don't be fobbed off!.

I don't think your weight now would have so much of a bearing per se but the previous surgery on your ovary would make me seek medical advice sooner rather than later.

OPK's are not all that reliable to use.
