BFP after implant?

I had the implant put in about a month after DD2 (14mths) was born. We have decided to ttc again so I had it taken out in August.

My doctor told me everything would get back to normal after a couple of days? Does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks for reading.

A couple of days? You have been getting a regular release of hormone 24/7 for the past year and it WILL take your body time to get back to its normal rhythm. You might be very lucky and concieve sooner rather than later so don't rule out this possibility. Equally, don't be surprised if it takes a couple of cycles to get some kind of regularity back. Good luck!

Hi, i had my implanon out yesterday. This is second time round as 3 1/2 years ago i had my first one out and was pregnant on the 2nd month of trying. As a gp and implanon fitter the technical aspects are that yes your fertility can return instantly, it is a very low level of hormone released daily and within 24 hrs and certainly 72 plus it has gone. I have known people ovulate within few days of it being removed and be pregnant a couple of weeks later. More normal is that you have a withdrawal bleed first. The mean tie to first ovulation is 21-28 days after removal.
Of course there are a few people whom it will take a bit longer but the norm is an instant return to fertility that is one of its biggest advantages over the pill and depot injection.

Hope this helps
