Right I am booked in for the lap and di, with ovarian drilling being done if necessary. Just wondered if anyone around had any advice really??

What to expect to feel like afterwards, side effects that sort of thing. I know everyone will be different but thought it would be worth asking.......

Had a lap & dye and apart from the effects of the anaesthetic I was fine, just a little sore around incisions. The only other side effect I had was apparantly they fill you with gas and my shoulders were really aching for a couple of days.

Had ovarian drilling done at a different time a few years later, again only the anaesthetic affected me (always feel so tired after anaesthetic), sore around incisions for a couple of days but no internal discomfort. Doctor signed me off work for 2 weeks but I could of gone back after about 4 days cos I felt fine (didn't though cos I am just lazy )

It really is nothing to worry about honestly, both times I only went into the day ward and I didn't even have any of the painkillers they gave me. (Also I went on to get pregnant 8 months after ovarian drilling).

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Had the lap first time and endo blasted. Second time had lap and ovarian cyst removed. Both times were much the same, was signed off for 3 weeks. The gas in shoulders was quite painful but with lots of rest I was fine (glad i can say that now, hope will say the same of childbirth)!
After lap no.2 i got pregant a couple of months later

I've had lap & dye and then lap and endo blasted. Yes I agree the gas hurt my shoulders and I felt sore and uncomfortable afterwards.

OK this might be a totally thick question but why does the gas hurt yoyr shoulders of all places??

Abdominal pain can travel up nerves to the shoulder - something to do with the shoulder and abdomen sharing embryonic tissue (At least I think I read that somewhere). My shoulder pain post c-section was terrible, but I found that drinking lots of peppermint tea helped as it relieves the bloating
