To get pregnant the day after your period?
AF is a day or so late. Am I worrying over nothing? Really don't have spare cash for a test right now. I'm thinking it's very unlikely
I'm pregnant. Can anyone enlighten me?

Well I am convinced that this has happened to me twice but I cant really prove it .

First time was with DD. OH came back from a tour of duty and I had just finished period the day before. I got pg right away. I get symptoms very early and was feeling it within two weeks.

DC5 we had just started trying. Only had sex twice when I found out I was pg. Very shocked as I am 42 and it took over a year with DS3. It could have been day after or 3 days after but not later than that.

So probably not what you want to hear - sorry. But I have no scientific proof. I dont know much about the biology of conception (well apart from the obvious) but there are a lot of MNs who know a lot.

I was always led to believe it was very unlikely so maybe I have a weird cycle. I tried to do it the scientific way with DS3 - so I am thinking I do have a strange cycle.

Sorry for the waffle. I hope that things turn out the way you want them too. I hope you find out soon and you dont have to worry for long.

Oh Bugger! DH has just been to the Doc's about having the snip too. Slightly dumbstruck. It must be pretty rare though? Really rare..I'm sure I won't be, I'm 39 as well, so not like a super fertile teenager.

It is rare, but not absolutely impossible.

Surely your GP will do a pregnancy test without cost to you? Hand in early morning urine.
Fingers crossed you get the result you want.
Quite often a negative pregn test result is enough stress relief to bring on a period !

Sperm can last up to five days inside your body (7 if you're a super fertile teenager). So it's possible to have sex the day after your period but not conceive till the following week. If you're not sure when in your cycle you ovulate count back 16 days from the end of your cycle, that'll give you the earliest possible day.

And most gum/sexual health clinics do free pregnancy tests if you don't have time/can't wait too long for a GPs appointment.
