hi all, newbie here...

Im wondering if anyone else is experiencing what i am going through at the moment...

I came off dianette about 3 months ago and i started to have fortnightly cycles, last month lasted 21 days and so far this month i am on day 29 without no bleed.

Majority of last week i suffered with period pains, sore nipples and all other pms symptoms but had no period. Could these be implantation pains or late ovulation? I had a weekend of pain free but over the past 2/3 days the pains have returned, a very bloated belly, sore boobs and still no period !!! i had a hcg blood test done last monday and they have come back normal.

What is wrong with me? the constant period pains are starting to wear me down.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems?

any help would be greatly appreciated...

hmm, not sure what is happening. It took me ages to get my cycle on track after dianette (but that was years ago). Also i had cramps a week before my last AF, which disappeared and i was 7 days late too, but AF got me in the end. I think its just that I am now just off the mirena and i think the hormones mess you up a bit. But hopefully you are pg - maybe try to take your mind off it a bit for a while. I know how you feel. Last week I was in a right old state not knowing if I was pg or not grr.

thanks for the advice lucybrad ....

last night i went to bed convinced that i was pregnant and woke up to a horrendous period... im slighly gutted as you can imagine !!!

how long have you been ttc? its so frustrating especially as im approaching 37 this week and im worried that the painful periods are sumthing serious that will prevent me from getting pregnant...

anxious times for us all, fingers crossed for us both.... keep me updated ....

I would seek medical advice asap and if the GP is unhelpful ask for a referral to a gyane specialist. Infact I'd be asking for a referral as a matter of course.

May I ask why you were put on Dianette in the first instance?. Was it for irregular and or painful periods by chance?

Dianette has anti androgenic qualities which can help with hormonal imbalances that cause irregular periods. However, when this is stopped the irregularity can return.

The pains leading up to the menstrual cycle and painful periods like you describe can be indicative of endometriosis and this possibility should be investigated further by a specialist like a gynae.
