swine flu vaccine while ttc

Hi,

My work is offering the swine flu jab this week. My thinking is i'd rather get the vaccine while its just me, not me and my bump, but typically the next 2 days is when I'm (hopefully) ovulating. Does anyone know if the the vaccine would not be recommeneded at this time/ could pose any risks?

Thanks

hope not because i have just had it at cd24

I had mine on cd 21. I mentioned that I was ttc to the nurse that gave it and they gave it anyway - although did give me the sheet to read that they normally give to pregnant women. I took the same view as you that I'd rather have it when it's just me rather then once there is a bump to worry about.

i'm having the same problem, i ovulate saturday and getting the injection the following thursday, dont know what do u. cant find anything on the net, have u found any info or decided what to do

Slightly different question. I know they're offering the vacine to pregnant women but my DH keeps going on at me that I should get it because we're TTC, so I might get pregnant. Does anyone know if the NHS will offer it just becaue you're TTC?

I've been wondering the same thing Floweryboots. I think the answer will be no, I suppose any woman could potentially be trying to get pregnant and so we could all "jump the queue" IYSWIM. Clearly it makes sense to get it prior to being pregnant, but I'm not sure we will get anywhere with GPs.

my doctor gave it to me because I was TTC, and I asked her for it. I reckon its down to each doctor to decide.

sorry, took a while to get back, turns out I didn't need to worry as AF arrived

floweryboots, my GP was very supportive of giving it to women ttc so I would def ask
