My period should come on Tuesday, so according to first response instructions today would be the sixth day before I am due. I used a first response test yesterday, which was negative. I knew it would be but I frankly lacked the self control not to use it when it was sitting on my bathroom shelf calling out to me!!
I used another one this morning, which was also negative. However, on going through my calendar, since I ovulate late in my cycle I wasn't sure if today was still too early. I phoned first response this morning, it took me a while to speak to anyone with even a basic grasp of biology but eventually spoke to someone who told me that you cannot use their six day early test until 11 days after you ovulate. This would be only one day before my period is due! So much for six days early - they don't put that on the packet! Total waste of time, money and emotional stress! Will inevitably be doing the same thing again on Sunday/Monday as by that time should be within the window in which a six day early test would actually work!! Has anyone else had any bad experiences with using these tests early? Please don't tell me I should wait till I miss a period, I am painfully aware that that is the more sensible option, but if you can do that, you obviously have more self control than i do!!
