Maybe I'm posting on the wrong topic here, but just wondering if anyone else is in this position and how long you have been trying for.

I have a 2.6yo just now, had a pg loss earlier this year, and still trying.

I'm 27 and just frustrated that it's taking ages.

It would be nice to chat to others in a similar situation.

Thanks

scottishbird that must be incredibly frustrating. You must be due for some good news soon. But if you are ovulating on day 15 and doing the deed up till that day then I don't think you've been doing anything wrong as sperm are meant to hang around for a couple days aren't they? (Hey, what would I know though, I'm not getting very far!).

lovechoc When you're in it for the long haul as we are I don't think you can force yourselves to have sex more than is natural for you as a couple. Month after month it just gets too much and you can end up really resenting eachother I think. As you say it only takes once!

Really fed up today too, very heavy AF. Monday would have been my due date had I not miscarried in April so that is looming a bit. I've eated so much chocolate this week it's not funny (are you partial to this lovechoc?!).

lovechoc · 05/11/2009 12:59

I love chocolate! lol

best way to get over AF arriving is to eat plenty of it, that's what I've been doing every month so far. It makes you feel fab!

Yep, we can't do it any more than we're doing already. 5-6 times seems to be the limit for us each month. wish we could do it more but it just isn't happening. ah well, the little swimmer has to meet Planet Egg eventually...

You examine salivia on the microscope, not CM! (even I would draw the line at that ) My friend recommended it, after becoming pregnant in the 1st month using it. But obviously wouldn't personally reccomend it!
It was called ovatel

I agree, you can't force yourselves to have more sex than you would otherwise. We probably don't do it enough though, DD always seems to wake up at the wrong time.

Also agree about getting through AF with chocolate - I find a big mug of hot chocolate works wonders too.

Ooops yes I should have read your post more carefully!!

lovechoc · 06/11/2009 22:23

am in complete shock, took a HPT a few hours ago and it says...BFP!trying not to get excited as it didn't turn out well last time. good luck to everyone on this thread. I'm hoping this spreads quickly to you!

oh, fingers crossed lovechoc

totally sympathise with everyone on here. my lo is 3.4 and i really wanted to have no2 before she turned 3. clearly that's not happened.

situation hasn't been helped as dh had work problems for most of last year coupled with some depression, so he (understandably) wasn't in the mood most of the time and it was generally a very stressful time for both of us.

it took us about 2 yrs TTC no1 so I'm not hugely surprised it's taking a long time now. havijng siad that, it doesn't make it any less frustrating. definitely need to make more time for sex though....

TabithaTwitchet · 07/11/2009 12:49

Wow lovechoc, have everything crossed that it turns out right for you this time! Congratulations!

lovechoc · 09/11/2009 18:57

thanks, but I'm not allowing myself to get excited until it is seen as viable at USS. I need to see a heartbeat IYKWIM.

I told everyone when I was about 6 weeks last time (earlier this year) then I lost the pregnancy a few weeks later. Have no intention of telling anyone until 12 weeks (if the pg lasts that long).

Fingers crossed you all get your BFP aswell. The waiting is so depressing.

Hi everyone

Congratulations lovechoc, thats great news-i really hope its a lovely sticky bean

Everyone seems lovely on here. Im really sorry to hear of your losses, that must have been so heartbreaking.

Im 24 and have a ds of 25 mths. We have been ttc #2 for 18 mths, and i just had a hosp apt 2 weeks ago to check everything is ok.
Everything came back normal which consultant said is probably due to my recent weight loss of 17.5lb. I havent been ov up til now(only found out 2 mths ago following blood tests),but i had a nice big egg in my left ovary when i had the scan at my hosp appointment. The consultant reccommended me to get bding and we did,so im now just waiting to see if af arrives on friday [wringing hands nervously emoction)

cyanarasamba · 12/11/2009 20:55

Lovechoc - Wooo hoo! Congratulations! Have been away for a week and so missed you news. I have everything crossed for you.

The next few weeks are going to be stressful I know but hopefully not long to wait for a good scan! Only 6 weeks or so as compared to the 6 months you've been waiting for that BFP.

Maybe, just maybe, this is a lucky thread. Keep posting ladies! Good luck for Friday seanybosmummy.

Hi Everyone

What fab news that you are pregnant Lovechoc - it gives us all hope!

I'm currently TTC no 2, with no1 3.5 yrs old. Having spent 3 yrs trying for no 1, we are in the middle of an IVF cycle, which is OK, but going on my experiences if you are over 30 and it's taking more than a year then don't let the GP's send you home without getting reffered, no point in not getting basic checks done on egg quality and sperm...

It's such a relief to read back through all these posts, I went back to work this year (PT) to stop myself from going crazy as everyone else popped out no 2, it is so hard when you want no 2 but they just don't arrive, that feeling of being the "only one with one"...Amazing to read back through the posts and see I wasn't that alone - thanks to all of you that have posted.

I'll update on the treatment, but good luck to all and best wishes for success - however it comes. x

Can I join in on this thread too?

I have a 2.10 ds and have been ttc for nearly 6 months.

My son was conceived as a happy accident and I never thought it would take so long to get pregnant again.

Practically everyone I know (& plenty I don't) keeps asking when we are going to have another or if we are trying. Its driving me bonkers.
