Lost a pregnancy, bleeding stopped and now ovulating - any point in doing the deed?

My lost pregnancy bleeding has stopped and I have just ovulated according to test I used. Time is of the essence due to my age (44) and strictly speaking, I know I should lay off sex for another week, but I don't want to miss this highly fertile time as took ages to conceive our last child. Plus I only ever manage to get pregnant at this time of year and it took nearly a year for my cycle to get right after mc between DC2 and DC3.

But, is there any point in trying to conceive if I have just been bleeding as there may not be anything there to implant into?

No lectures on giving my body a rest please, I have made up my mind!

I'm not sure why you think you need to rest - but yes, plenty of people with opinions. Just go for it - if you're ovulating you're ovulating. If your body doesn't want to get/be pregnant it won't be - but you can at least give it a nudge in the right direction. If you don't have sex you'll certainly not get that much-wanted BFP!

Btw, there is absolutely NO medical reason why you should wait following a mc - the only reason may be that it can make it difficult for the sonographer to date the pregnancy - but really, that's their problem, not yours!

Hi Pinkpanettone sorry about your m/c, i think you should go for it.

I had a m/c to last year november and after the bleeding stopped i felt like i had to try again. So i did and straight after the m/c the same month i was pregnant again.

The result is 3 weeks old and sleeping. Good luck to you, they do say that your more fetile after a m/c.

Thanks. Unfortunately I've been told that ovulation test is likely to be unreliable as there are still pregnancy hormones in my body.
