hi Fairygodmother1 hope u ok today. I have my next appointment in January. they are SO bad, I had my recent appointment changes 3 times! Fingers crossed that your results are good.

hi everyone else!

I had refexology on Wednesday, it was really good, I felt really relaxed after it then zonked out and had to go to bed early. Woke up with a headache and today I have swollen glands and achey limbs. hoping its just a reaction to reflexology and not swine flu! My freind who did the reflexology recommended a course of 4 treatments, we're going to aim for me to get a period naturally and try to boost my wonky hormones

my DD has settled well into school, its just really weird not having her here on my days off school - will take some getting used to

Have a great weekend......loads of babydust x

Fairygodmother1 · 18/09/2009 19:33

Hi Clur,
Hope you're feeling ok. I'm ok - had a dizzy spell earlier but ok, think its a side effect to the blood test - I'm not good with them lol.

Reflexology sounds lovely - will try that once dh brings in money again!

Best wishes all & have a great weekend

Also having a blood test on Monday to find out what is happening with my hormones and what is making my periods irregualr, then having blood test on CD21 to check Ive ovulated and the clomid dose is right!

sounds like you are doing the right things littlemissmischief!

Fairygodmother1 · 19/09/2009 18:37

Yep it does sound right Littlemiss. Sounds exactly what I've been told. Are they scanning you at any point because I haven't had any to check but apparenly some people are. I've a feeling it depends on where you are living.

Good Luck!!!!!!

Littlemissmischief · 19/09/2009 19:57

Thanks Girls, thats reassuring to know

Ive not been told about any scanning? What does that involve?

Im just hoping it works now! After 2 years of being told, you've done it once it will happen again and being sent away, Im so glad to finally have got to see someone and Im pinning all my hopes on Clomid now so hope Im not building myself up for an even bigger fall!

Hope veryone else is doing ok x

Babydust for everyone ***

Fairygodmother1 · 19/09/2009 20:10

All I know (mainly from reading Jools Oliver's books & on here) is they scan at day 12 to see if you are likely to produce an egg. Clur & I haven't been offered it so maybe it depoends on ur specialist.

We've been trying for our first for nearly 2 years & was only given Clomid a few months ago. We're hoping that it'll happen for us real soon! I've not got the best patience at the best of times.

Fingers cross for this month!

Littlemissmischief · 19/09/2009 21:31

Oh right I see, the specialist said that was what the CD21 blood test is for, to see if I have ovulated and then if I have i stick with the dose if not I go back and get a higher dose until its right. Ive been given 4 months worth but she said she doesnt think I will need that many as my problems are ones she think will be resolved by Clomid, and I really hope she is right!!

We have been trying for 2 years also and like you I have zero patience, it doesnt help that I fell pg with my DS after 4 weeks of being together and not even trying and so naievely thought it would happen as quick again, I now realise how lucky I was!

So are you taking Clomid now still? How long have you been using it? Do you have any side effects? (sorry for all the Qs)

Baby dust ***

Fairygodmother1 · 20/09/2009 13:53

Hi littlemiss,

I've done 2 courses of clomid so far (specialist gave me 6 months). I've done 2 lots of day 21 bloods but haven't heard anything from hosp (other than change of date). I think I'll try GP this week for an appointment to see if they know the results.

I only had side effects the first month - nausea, dizzy feelings, migrane, bleeding & very tired.

2nd month was ok (although I did feel dizzy the other day).

Got that your specialist seems so positive - mine seems to have left me alone to get on with it without any support.

How's everyone else's weekend going? I got an early b'day present from my mum, a wii so that I can try getting fit & lose some weight that the specialist asked me to!

Hi there.

I've not been using ovulation kits but am wondering if Clomid makes you ovulate later or earlier or is it just as likely either way?

Fairygodmother1 · 20/09/2009 19:10

Hi beanieb,

I can only pass on what I've read - apparently Clomid can make u ovulate around day 12 but if you have pcos then the kits don't work.

Hope this helps

stac14 · 20/09/2009 22:07

Hey ladies
just thought I would pop on and say hi, how are you all? Af has been agony but at least it means the metformin is working. How have your weekends been? DP and I went to a lovely italian restaurant had a great evening nice to have some time to ourselves. Hope your all well

Hiya

Well how is everyone? relaxed after the weekend I hope. Well Im due on Friday so just waiting around as normal. Its doing my nut in now.
My app is late Oct and I really hope they dont cancel as it sounds like that happens alot.

Clure - reflexology done the same to me I had a migraine the next day. I dont think I drank enough water though.

littlemiss - sounds like you have everything in order. I keep reading different stories about how many times a week to do it if your ttc. If your DH swimmers are ok I would try for every day if he is low then every other day so they can regenerate.
Keep at it and im sure it will fall into place. good luck

Fairy - good luck with the wii sounds like fun.

beanie - Clomid should make you ovulate between day 12-15 but everyone reacts differently so thats why its best to cover cd10-20 so you can catch the right time
( theoretically)

Littlemissmischief · 21/09/2009 15:26

Thanks Clairebear, DH has been tested and is fine so its just me with the problem. The consultant said to try between CD9 and CD19 and esp. on CD14. She also said not to BD every day but about 3 times a week, so Im thinking to start CD8 till CD20 and BD every other day, then that will land on the 14th day too...If you see what i mean

My other worry which I forgot to mention to the Consulatant was that it took 6 weeks to get a BFP with my DS, dont know if that means it will happen the same again?

Baby dust to everyone **

beanieb · 21/09/2009 17:31

thanks for the info about ovulation and Clomid. I ask because I haven't had any signs of ovulation at all for the last 2 months. Am on the lowest dose and am taking the cough medicine but my usual signs are just not there. Have done the occassional ovulation predictor kit thing but rarely get any lines.

The first month I took clomid (And fell pregnant but miscarried) I had a fertility monitor and it gave me a peak on day 14. We had sex all around teh 14th and again on the 18th day.

am wondering if perhaps I ovulate later but am assuming that would be unusual particularly as my normal cycle is usually quite short (is longer on Clomid) and for a while when not taking Clomid I was ovulating around day 19!!

saraross · 23/09/2009 15:02

hI lADIES
I have just had some positive news and wanted to share it, my 1st month on clomid and metformin and dispite being told in my day 14 scan that i had no mature folicles the day 21 progesterone test showed that i had ovulated with a level of 68!

I also had my 1st ever 28day cycle!!!!
Not pregnant yet but very happy that i ovulated on my 1st round of clomid!
1500mg metformin plus 50mg clomid ... i have my fingers crossed for cycle 2 and start the clomid again 50mg tomorrow, very EXCITING!!!!

Is that normal or good????

Littlemissmischief · 23/09/2009 15:31

Hi Saraross, wow thats brilliant, congrats! I hope I get the same results as you. Im on my 1st month of clomid and finish it tomorrow, I have not been offered a scan but will have 21 day bloods so I have my fingers crossed as my level was ovulation level 1 before so hoping for a big improvement! I too cant wait for a 'normal' period of 28 days as mine have always been all over the place.

My fingers are crossed for you for next month! x

Fairygodmother1 · 23/09/2009 18:36

Hi ya all

Sara - Thats good, fingers crossed for cycle 2.

I'm gonna start cycle 3 tomorrow - this is my first normal(ish) cycle in years - I'm actually day 27 today but af decided to visit today. Slightly gutted but I had the ovulation niggles, very sore boobs for the last week or so & 28 day(ish) cycle so I'm taking it as positives of being 'normal' for next month!!!!!

Still need to go & find out results of blood test which I'll try to get an appointment for on Monday.

Wii going well - lost a lb since Sat!

Still no af for me on cd 84 now - going tobook in at docs soonish!

clairebear88 · 25/09/2009 10:09

Hi all

Well AF arrived today bang on CD28. Last chance saloon on clomid so am really gutted. Pains are so bad too and sitting at my desk wanting to cry. God I feel low.
Just hoping at my cons app at end of Oct they push on with iui quickly and I dont have to wait until next year.

Sara - great news and hope this sorts your cycles out from now on. Its so weird how the body works.

Fairy - sorry AF got you but at least the positive is your cycle is getting a good rhythym and carries on

I hope everyone has a good weekend and hope to hear of some BFP soon

cx

saraross · 25/09/2009 11:45

Thanks for all your support ladies !

Clairebear88- Did you achieve ovulation on clomid? Have you sone 6 cycles with it with no luck?

I am nervous as i hoped that if i ovulated that i would fall pregnant and i dont want to get my hopes up if that is not the case for most people!!

Is anyone on metformin and clomid?

Good luck ladies ... baby dust to all y'all ...............

Littlemissmischief · 25/09/2009 11:56

Clairebear - so sorry hun, I really hope you get lots of help at the end of Oct and you get your BFP soon!

Sara - Im in the same boat as you! I just assumed that the Clomid would work as it solves the problem me and DP have, but starting to feel a bit less sure now! The doctor seemed so sure it would be the answer to all our paryers and gave me 4 months worth but said it was unlikely I would need that much - felt so happy, but starting to realise that it doesnt do the trick for everyone. Just have to keep our fingers crossed! x

Good luck and babydust for everyone *

Fairygodmother1 · 25/09/2009 14:24

Clirebear - fingers crossed for us this month then - feeling you pain as I'm off work with excruciating pain & VV heavy AF!!! This is not 'normal' for me butchatting to my best mate & she said its very normal for her so maybe this is what a 'normal' 28 cycle is?!
Currently snuggled on the sofa with hotwater bottle & duvet as was up most of the nightin agony.

Sara - I think I ovulated (still need to contact the consultant) but have a feeling we either missed it or it wasn't mature enough! Thats after 2 cycles.

We def need some bfp's soon!

Baby dust scattered about!

stac14 · 25/09/2009 14:47

Hey ladies

Clomid is the answer for many woman, just for some of us it didnt work. I am now taking metformin and next cycle will add in the clomid again. I ovulated once in the 6 months I was on clomid but most of the other women on here have ov'd on all thier cycles so stay positive.

Good luck to all xxxx

OP posts:
Littlemissmischief · 25/09/2009 15:45

Thanks Stac14, just pinning so much on these little tablets it seems alot too ask, the next step for me anyway is the CD21 blood test so will find out if im ovulating then (got a little while to wait yet tho). Good luck with the metformin, hope it does the trick for you.

Fairygodmother - you poor thing, hope you feel better soon

I am in serious agreement, we must have some BFP's soon!!! x
