Hello Clure and Stac and anyone else who remembers me.

Just had a little read through the post and noticed that Clure is thinking about IVF. I had 7 rounds of Clomid this time with no result - even though I was told that I responded excellently everytime [frustrated smiley]Could have kept at it with the clo, but the stress and negative side effects were killing me tbh.

Am now on the IVF trip for the first time.It is a really personal decision to go for IVF, but I take a kind of, "you only live once" attitude to it. Have been injecting daily for just over a week, and it is not bad at all - though tummy is rather purple/green in places! No real side effects so far.

I know that it sounds scary, but I think that the biggest deal about IVF is probably the money. It also all feels so unreal. I feel somewhat detached from the end result right now.

The big positive is no more BD on demand or symptom spotting for ov - all that is out of your hands! So if you are ok with pride going out the window, cross the rooftops etc - that goes out the window on day 1 - dildo cam whilst on AF - nice - then go for it!

hello mummycat, good to hear from you again. I agree its a hell of a decision to go for ivf, i wish you all the very best of luck. We haven't made the decision yet as my consultant feels that our best chances are with donor eggs and its this particular factor which is giving dh and myself the "oh my god" feelings. Good that you are also looking at all the positives about ivf mummycat We also would have to pay for the ivf also - another huge undertaking. I've just taken my first tablet on cycle 4 - here we go again!! Do keep us posted on your ivf journey

hello to the rest of you, now off to bed
wishing you all babydust xxxxxxx

mummycat1 · 13/10/2009 21:15

Sorry to ask, but why would you need DE Clure? If they are letting you do Clo then surely that means you are still oving?

Clure · 13/10/2009 22:19

hi mummycat, consultant said my FSH levels are very high, shows low egg reserve and possible premature meno. He just said it "may" happen with clomid but best chances are with donor eggs, I'm 42. I've not really had chance to discuss further tests to investigate using my own eggs. We are just still letting it all sink in!

Clure · 13/10/2009 22:20

mummycat - also haven;t been offered any monitoring, though have for this round of clomid, so wasn;t even totally sure I was oving x

mummycat1 · 14/10/2009 10:59

Good luck Clure - glad you are getting monitoring this time. It must be very frustrating to have been left in the dark thus far. It's so important to be monitored properly xx

Clure · 14/10/2009 20:10

thanks mummycat. Sending you lots of ivf babydust x

Clure · 14/10/2009 22:02

hi paddington, hope you're doing ok, can I ask what is your doc giving you to sort out hormone imbalance? Sorry, am curious! I'm also having reflexology, I managed a period without provera this cycle so thinking maybe the reflexology is doing a bit of good!
hi to rest of you x

Buttercup80 · 15/10/2009 04:12

Hi Paddington,
I'd also like to know what herbs you're taking to help with the hormones.
I've not tried reflexology but I have tried acupuncture. I've just had one session so far so I'm not sure if it's working yet.

So far I'm on day 25 of this cycle. counting down the days until I can do a test, trying not to get my hopes up.....

Hi all - I have a question if there's anyone around to answer.

I am on CD 12 and last night I had really funny lower abdominal pains. I can't really describe them but they were low down and I also felt some pain in my bum area.

I am taking clomid from days 2 - 6 so am not taking it now.

Is this normal at this point in my cycle? I think I am about to ovulate.

mummycat1 · 15/10/2009 20:08

sounds fine beanieb just oving pain. Clomid does all sorts of funny things to your insides. My nurse at the FC used to say that the pains were my ovaries trying to tell me something! Good luck!

peju25 · 15/10/2009 22:24

My dp had his test results today and normal motility etc BUT he has a high abnormal sp count and low normal sperm count - what does this mean for us?? am going back to my doc who is fertility expert but not for 2 weeks and want to know what this means for us - any help would be great

peju25 · 16/10/2009 19:01

Hello everyone, haven't been on here for a little while. Cd16, just starting the tww, and if this one doesn't work, we'll be doing (and paying for, due to my advanced years) ivf. Clure, we might be doing it together - but let's hope that we get lucky before that!

Clure · 18/10/2009 12:35

absolutely kiwi. My DH isn't keen on the ivf idea. Heres lots of babydust xxxx

Clure · 18/10/2009 12:38

Ooh a quick question hoping some of you may be able to answer. I'm due to do my day 21 progesterone bloods and just worked it out that it will be a saturday - surgery not open so do I take it on the friday or wait till monday? thanks x

paddington21 · 18/10/2009 14:46

Hey clure- i would ring your doc but i always did it on the mon if it fell on a weekend. But they could say fri... doc's are all very confusing!

hey kiwi good luck for your 2ww.

Has anyone read the fertility diet? I dont know how to take it tbh. Some of it seemed a bit odd to me like not eating peas??? and absolutely no booze whatsoever. Also some seaweed milkshakes.

Hope everyone is ok

dust and all that jazz- am on a jazz trip today! (im getting all excited about that xmas is not too far away emotion insert here)

Clure · 18/10/2009 15:14

thanks paddington. I haven't heard of fertility diet, yikes to the seaweed shake! I've cut down caffeine (one black coffee in the morning) eating my usual diet which is vegan and taking Zita Wests fertility supplements. Its confusing with the amount of conflicting information out there!
We have just been swimming with DD who had a whale of a time, I now should be doing some school planning!
Hope everyone else ok x
xxxx

paddington21 · 18/10/2009 17:53

Oh please dont use the P word Clure!!!! its a bad word
Glad you had a good swim with dd
There is a lot of conflicting advice i dont eat wheat but the book says no to dairy and meat and only fresh water fish. It's hard to know when to draw the line.

hope all are well xx

paddington21 · 18/10/2009 17:54
