Remind me what nutrients you're supposed to take when ttc?

And how long before/during/after??!

I've forgotten. Would it be dreadful to start trying before taking supplements?

3 months before folic acid

Continue to second trimester I believe

Ok, thanks. Is it really bad to ttc before that 3 months is up?

Can anyone recommend a good prenatal supplement (with more nutrients than just folic acid)?

No it's not really bad, most people discover they are pregnant and then start taking folic acid. Supermarkets sell generic pregnancy vits these days which are fine.

No point in shelling out extra for pregnacare (which always made me burp a lot for some reason) when Sainsburys sell the equivalent for 50% less!

You're supposed to take folic acid for three months before but as whomovedmychocolate said lots of people find out they're pregnant and then start taking folic acid. Boots have got a 3 for 2 deal on all vitamin tablets just now so you can save a few pennies.

Folic acid is supposed to be taken until you're 12 weeks and then I think in the later stages omega oils are recommended but that's something you could always check with your doc/midwife when pregnant.
