What would you do? last cycle of clomid and only 1 tube.

ok, first cycle i took 100mg clomid and ended up with 3 follies on tubeless side. 2 on tubed side and a couple of immature ones on each side,, womb lining was 6mm on CD12. advised to abstain, but took the risk. no baby.

then 50mg, had 2 follies on tubeless side, 1 on tubed w/l 9mm on CD12. CD14 scan showed that follies on tubeless side had ruptured but tubed was still there w/l 12mm. this confirmed what i have suspected, that my tubeless side is much more active than the tubed.

this month, no follicle tracking, just bloods. nurse said i should take 50mg again. but tempted to take the 100mg originally prescribed by cons. supposed to start today. wwyd?

I would skip all that and jump to IVF.

really? why?

If there is more activity on tubeless side, then the only way you will access those eggs is through IVF. With your history you would stand a good chance of success. If clomid does not work within 3 months you have a diminished chance of it ever working.

I would take the 100mg

lottie, does the higher dose reduce your lining then?

bamboo, thats a good point. IVF is our next step, seeing cons in sept, and starting IVF on egg sharing scheme (only way we can afford it, and i respond v well to stimms) as soon as they have a slot, but would obv rather not go that route unless we have to (although i do think that we will )

blimey, youve got your hands full then! ikwym about ttc being depressing. id never thought when we first started that 4y later we would still be at it. it makes me want to shake those who say "we'll get married, wait for 2y, move house then have a baby" and shout you dont know how long it will take!

Just wanted to say ask whether you could just take 2 months of 50mg? I have no clue about Clomid but I'm assuming 100mg is just two pills to pop each time and 50mg is one pill at a time to pop? Ignore me if I've got this wrong, but taking 2 months at 50mg would give you more of a chance...Lottie's right about the lining - my clinic wouldn't have let me go ahead with IVF with a lining less than 8mm so the lining would be my deciding factor since you respond well to 50mg...

lol, thanks. have taken the 50mg because (as Caitni said) that means we can get anoth "secret" month out of it before seeing cons again.

Does anyone know how long you can be on clomid? Am on 150mg and progesterone finally got to 32. Started on 50mg in March and gradually built it up. Cons has just advised I take 3 months more on 150 but worried having read about the lining. Is that why it isn't happening for me?
