should I waste more money on yet another test??

I've been away from this topic for a bit, because had a really long cycle (about 60 days) and it really upset me, and then this cycle has gone on and on for ever (now on day 70 ish). I am going back to my GP on Friday about this.

I think it probably is just stress thats caused the cycle delays, as I had a very stressful job, so I made the decision about 3 1/2 weeks ago to hand in my notice. Anyway, AF still hasn't arrived, and I'm wondering if I should do one last test tomorrow am before I go to Dr? (I tested 2 1/2 weeks ago and it was negative)

haven't really got any obvious pg symptoms I don't think. got the faintest nauseau but then I often do, a bit constipated (and normally not at all), and I don't know if this is a pg symptom but I have had headaches most of the time for the last couple of weeks and I NEVER normally get headaches...

any thoughts?

Constipation in early pg is normal. I'd retest before the doctors BUT to be honest I think with your long cycles I'd order a load on internet cheapy tests that detect pg early so you can indulge in a POAS frenzy when you need to. I keep meaning to buy some but I'm in denial. I do need to get some it saves a fortune when ttc.

I don't normally have stupidly long cycles, they'd settled into about 32-34 days, and I am hoping its just the stress thats making them long (or ideally, now, pg! but I do know thats a lot to hope for). you're right I need some internet cheapies or before long I'll have spent so much on sticks I could have raised several children! will got and hunt them out, is there a good site?

oh, and while i'm posting again, HAS anyone experienced headaches as their first pregnancy sypmtom. i've searched on internet a bit and it does appear to be a pregnancy symptom, but i'd not heard of it before. I really do never normally get headaches....

I am the same Dancing Queen. AF last visited about 80 days ago. Prior to that it was about the same. The GP has put it down to stress. I was about to go to my follow up visit but AF arrived. I am due to see her next week. For the time being I have had period like pains. I have taken numerous tests, all were negatory. I took an ovulation test a couple of weeks ago which came up positive so at least that is something, although I am going symptom spotting crazy. Prodding my nipples every 10 minutes, Googling every pregnancy sign under the sun etc. On a previous thread I was recommended reading 'Taking charge of your fertility' by Toni Weschler. As myjobismum said, take the test and then visit your GP. Good luck.

If your periods are this far apart then it is highly likely you are not ovulating regularly if at all. The GP was wrong to cite stress as a cause; this problem is often caused by hormonal imbalances. You should have a blood test done to measure your hormone levels.

OPK's are also of no use at all if your periods are that irregular. These measure LH; women with irregular cycles can have an excess of this hormone so the kit could well be reading that.
