Am I having a miscarriage or a really heavy period? Don't read if you are squeamish!

We have been ttc no2 for a year and I now under a fertility specialist. When I have my period I usually have a few days of brown spotting before my period starts properly. This month my period started without any warning and it is much heavier than usual.

I am sorry if this is too much information. Last night I had a lot of pain and I was losing quite a lot of large blood clots, this carried on today. An hour ago I changed my tampon and this large curvy shaped thing came out (looked like an embroyo) I have just been to the loo again and this time white strip things came out of me. Sorry for the graphic description.

If I was pregnant I would only have been a few weeks so it seems unlikely but I have never experienced anything like this before.

If an early miscarriage is suspected will a blood test be carried out to clarify this?

It does sound like it might have been a very early miscarriage - really sorry to say that.

I'd phone the fertility clinic and ask if they would normally ask you to do anything under the circs, but normally they don't do anything to confirm mcs

If it was an early mc then unlikely that anything resembling an embryo would have been expelled. Its definitely worth getting checked out though

you poor thing, have you done a test? I am fairly certain that at this early stage you would have seen a small sac like shape and agree with lal123 Wishing you luck.xx

I had something similar few months ago - no sac but a late and very heavy period with a small whiteish bit in it - I think it was early miscarriage though have no proof
