What were your progesterone 'day 21' results ?

I have had progesterone tests done the last 2 months due to repeated miscarriages and short luteal phase. Last month 7 day luteal phase and mc 5 days after af due (same pattern as first 2)

This month progesterone tests (taken CD 26 and 29 of 34 day cycle) I think I ov (from BBT/CM on CD21)

The first test was level of 70.8 which I think is good (?) but the second is 31.1. So does the fact that is has dropped mean that I cannot be pregnant?

My BBT chart (first month of temping) looks totally 'ideal' - ov mid cycle and temp is now a degree higher consistently since ov that in first half of cycle. There is even an indication of a triphasic shift.

I am still hoping....

Hi there - saw your thread yesterday and thought more people would have posted for you I am not really well qualified to post but didn't want you to go unanswered

I had 2 day 21 tests done in 2007 when TTC (had been for just over 12 months when the tests were done)

Anyway - I cannot remember my first result exactly - I think it was 50 something and my second one was 68. These were in Feb and Mar 07 - I got my BFP in May 07 (1 week after first consult with a specialist re furtehr investigations - yes I am the cliche! )

The doc told me that anything over 30 indicated ovulation and that the higher the result was above that (40/50/6 0/70 etc ) was not important. Your lower result could just have been due to the timing and ovulation. Temping is excellent - stick with it for a few months and you will get to know your body signs really well and understand your cycle.

I did not have any issues with my LP but know lots of people do and docs seem to mostly completely dismiss the idea that it is a problem - I know there are alternative ways to try and lengthen it Agnus Castus (iirc?) and also acupuncture can be good.

HTH

sorry just realised i totally ignored your main question

I do not think that the progesterone result of 31.1 means your are not pg - so good luck and keep us posted!

Seaside is quite correct in saying that "anything" over 30 indicates ovulation - they don't look for a magic figure other than that. In terms of a pregnancy, it's true that your progesterone levels would increase, but as they are usually not tested until you are 28 dpo as a minimum, it's hard to say what impact your levels at ovulation would have. From memory, I think my progesterone levels were around 130 when I had my BFP, but with very low level HcG results (those low levels are now fast asleep in the shape of 3 year old DD!). Fingers crossed for you.

Thank you both for your posts - my fingers are still crossed!
