After a MC... when should the cycle get back to normal

Hi Anyone,

I MC at 13 weeks and had a heavy bleed. I did not opt for a D&C but instead went down the natural route of MC. Well, cycle reappeared and it was fine... but I seem to be spotting/bleeding a little every other day... is this normal? Should I wait for my next cycle before seeing the doctor??

Hi Cindy - I had a mc at 9 weeks but didn't spot like that. I'd say book an appt at your GP just for your own peace of mind otherwise you'll be worrying about it.

hi
I am sorry for your loss. I had a mmc at 13 weeks and also eventually mc naturally. My period reappeared about 3-4 weeks. I didn't have any spotting. If you are worried there is no harm in seeing a doctor?

My AF arrived as normal but during the week I have a small spot of blood... I think you are all right may be I should speak to the doctor.

Sorry about your MC. I had a MMC at 8 weeks and opted for an ERPC. Had bleeding after that for about a week or so, then AF came at a normal time about 4 weeks later. However took some months after that for cycle to really go back to normal. Went to see a gynae at some stage who told me it can take 3-4 months for cycle to go back to normal post MC and not to worry. By all means see a GP if it can reassure you. But with hindsight I think I got too stressed about cycle monitoring, and should have just let my body relax and recover naturally. First gynae I saw actually misdiagnosed me with something and threw me into a cycle of stress and diagnostic tests that were a waste of time (turned out everything was fine) and I could have done without. Ended up taking 12 months for me to get pg again post MC (first time took 2 months) - am now 38 weeks. Good luck and hope all goes well.
