2ww - tested early - HELP!

All. Updated one thread but wanted a wider audience to reassure me.

On day 11 of 2ww and couldn't stand the wait. Clinic advised if test 3 days early and get a BFP then pregnant, if a BFN then may not be true reading as HCG levels may rise over following 3 days.

So, dh walked in from work and we did a Clear Blue test and it showed BFP!!!!!!!

Cross had bold horizontal line and feinter vertical line, but it's definitely there.

Has anyone else done this and what are your thoughts on how accurate this test is in the circumstances? x

flumpette, if theres a cross, no matter how faint then your preg, congrats! i had this with ds2, i had bfn's all week, did 5 tests! then on the last day, the faintest line!, then when i retested 2 days later it was really dark, so its prob right that your hcg levels werent high enough before.

if you want to reassur yourself you could alwaysdo a clearblue digital, i did with dd2 when normal clearblue was really faint(had to hold it up to the window!!!) and got a definate, pregnant message!

flumpette, i will try to google for you to see if the drugs could give out a wrong reading...but to be honest if the clinic have said you can test this early then im sure they would know if its a true reading

right flumpette, did a bit of googling

im not sure what drugs you are taking in the two week wait...do any of them contain hcg hormones?

right according to my googling the hcg drug was taken to stimulate the ovaries, which is the reason that a false test could show positive if taken early (i think by that they mean if you tested a week early, not 2 and bit days early!!), but the fact remains that you took them ages and ages ago, you have had none in the 2week wait, so i cant see how they would show on your pregnancy test at this stage...am i making sense?

and like i said, the clinic would have pointed this out to you if they thought you may get a false reading, but its only 2 and a bit days till friday anyway,

so congratulations you are preggers!!!!
