I have had 3 c-sections and its never been mentioned to me that i shouldnt have anymore or that it should affect my fertility, but if scarring to your uterus from other procedures can affect fertility then surely c-section is right up there no??

Yes, c-sections can cause scarring and therefore affect future fertility. It is rare but not unheard of. If you are at all concerned then I would speak to your GP, I think you would need a hysteroscopy (sp?) to check your uterus, but I'm not sure how long you would need to have been ttc for them to refer you.

Yes, it is an issue.

I had 2 ectopic pregnancies after a section. My fertility specialist said it is well known that sections can cause fertility problems (because of the scarring, infection risk etc). The section was the only risk factor that I had for ectopics.

I would have hoped that this risk to be mentioned to any woman considering an elective section, especially if she is likely to want more children.
