Any tips on making a boy more likely please

Hi

DH has said 'yes' to TTC no 4, but after 3 girls would dearly love a boy...any tips on making this more likely? eg when in cycle etc...or is it all entirely chance??!!

At, or after time of ovulation - look up Shettler method.
You have a 50% chance of success !!

Near to ovulation as poss and also i think its an alkaline environment male sperm do well in? So..don't know how to make your fanjo more alkaline but apparently thats one of the tricks.

Deep penatrive positions and no foreplay as the sperm is less likely to be killed by acid environment. Don't know if its true its an old wifes tale I heard.

Great, thanks everyone. I thought I'd heard some theory of female sperm being able to last longer so more likely to fertilise egg if a few days before ovulation...oh well we shall see!

I have heard that the male sperm is faster at swimming so should be quicker at meeting the egg which is why you should do it as close to ovulation as possible. The female sperm are slower swimmers so a few days before OV is recommended.
Howere after having one DS i tried this method to try fora girl but in around 7 weeks out little boy will meet the world so im not sure how much of this is true. We are delighted though.

Info on shettles, plus to conceive a boy it's said the mother should consume foods high in sodium and potassium (salty foods/bananas) and minimize her intake of calcium and magnesium. There was also a study published recently that said something like women who ate a lot of cereal had a greater likelihood of conceiving a boy but look this up. It has also been claimed that douching with alkaline solution can tip the balance to having a boy e.g douching with baking soda.

Oo that'd be about right, i eat and ate loads of salty food and craved salty food with the boys, also stuffed tons of cereal -cocopops--

Well, I;ve always eaten lots of cereal and prefer salty food to sweet..and have conceived 3 girls - 2 being B.O.G.O.F as ID twins!
