positive yesterday negative today??

hi i took a test yesterday that showed a definate possitive but went and got a clear blue today and its negative. AF due tomorrow. is it possible to get a false possitive?

It's very rare to get a false positive. I've had one with a dud test, but that was years ago.

What is more likely is that the two tests you have used are different sensitivities and so one detected HCG and the other did not. If you used first morning wee for one but not the other that would affect how much hormone was in your wee too.

The alternative is a chemical pregnancy - where the egg is fertilised but fails to implant properly and so does not develop, but if I were you I wouldn't think about that just yet. Hopefully there's just a difference in the two tests you took.

I think clear blue are quite un-sensitive so if the first was higher sensitivity this might be why.

I think I read in a journal review article that false negatives are more common - especially early on. Try again tomorrow?

thanks. the 2 tests were different and i used first urine with the possitive but not the neg so ill try again tomorrow

hiya, no its negative so i must have had a faulty test before cause it would show up positive today as my AF is due today...although no sign of it yet. bit confused now lol

I've got no idea what could be going on... Give it a couple of days I guess and then maybe consult your doc if nothing's happened...
