Help - missed one pill and now I'm worried.........

I feel a bit silly typing this as I've been going on and on about how broody I am!! However, I missed my pill on Friday by a full 24 hours. I took 2 on Saturday, then on Sunday night dp and I had a few drinks and...... well..... YKWIM.

BUT... we didn't take any extra precautions!!!!

Although I want another baby I'm totally terrified that I may be pregnant coz we're getting married in 6 months! I know it's unlikely that I am, but HOW unlikely is it????

I was 6 pills into my pack when I missed one. Can anyone help me??

It wouldn't be the end of the world if I was, but we REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get married and also save a bit of money before child number 2!!

Tricky situation. I fell pg with ds whilst on the pill. We had an engagement party, I had FAR too much to drink and we had a pretty good night . However, next day I was very sick and six weeks later discovered I was pg. I had been on the pill 10 years prior to that. The odds of you conceiving after missing just the one pill are still fairly low but know what you mean about the timing. I had ds 3 months before getting married and it was a pretty hectic time. I was still feeding him too so had to express several times during the day when my bosums started to spill out of my dress.
Really depends on how much you want a baby now or how much you would like to wait till after your wedding. There is always the morning after pill....but if you are feeling broody it will be a hard decision to take.

What will be will be! I have to say I missed so many pills in my life and never fell pregnant while on it but 3 times in a row I fell pregnant off it straight away.

Unlikely to have happened but still possible. Also morning-after pill is actually good for 72 hours - I think.

mum2toby,it is very unlikely. I can't count the number of pills i've missed because i've just forgotten over the years. In fact probably on average I miss two a month and I haven't fallen pregnant whilst on it. My doc said it's very unlikely especially if you miss in the middle of the pack. The most likely apparently is if you miss at the beginning or the end of a pack. Good luck but im sure you don't need to worry. I am also very broody but the timing isn't quite right with moving house etc so I know what you mean.

I am also very very broody and have actually started to wonder whether there is ever a 'right time' - there are always work/financial/other issues to consider whenever babies are being discussed. I agree with quackers' philosophy - what will be, will be. Best to deal with it as and when it happens.
Would be nice to hear some happy pregnancy news though....

My Goodness - How slow is time going??? I went back to this thread to double check which weekend we had our little 'mishap' and it was only 8 days ago!!! GROAN!

I've got another week before I stop taking the pill, then another few days to wait and see if my period starts!! Should I maybe stop takng it now and see if I start??????

Wishful thinking Mum2Toby!!! It was day 6 you missed wasn't? Unlikely I would say but you never know what mother nature has in store for you next!!!

Mum2toby - I'd strongly advice AGAINST stoppng your pill early to see if you come on. The Pill works in two ways - stopping ovulation and making the uterus an inhospitable place in which to implant.

It's only a few extra days - continue taking your pills as normal, and then you can also be sure of your "normal" pattern once you've stopped - ie you come on x number of days afterwards.

And then you'll know if you don't.....!

I think I'm creating pregnancy symptoms!!! My breast seem to be very sore...... or am I imagining it?? Is this how sore they get every month about this time? Oh I don't know...... this is driving me mental!!
