BF but feel distictly odd...

I had baby #7 15 weeks ago. I am exclusively bf.

I never get a period while bf, it takes about 2-3 months for them to come back after i stop. Anywhere from 6 months to 16 months of bf.

BUT i feel odd. Extra tired, weird boobs, those srange crampy feelings you get when you think your period is coming but actually you are pregnant.

What do you think? Is it possible for my body to change the routine of a lifetime?

15 weeks seems young (especially given your history of periods not returning until after you stop BF) so I would think that you are more likely to be experiencing PMT or with sore boobs it could even be ovulation restarting BUT it is not impossible so GET A TEST!

Cadmum · 29/04/2009 14:36

Oh, and HUGE congrats on number 7! (8 wouldn't be so bad as db#7 would have a playmate, right?!

largeginandtonic · 29/04/2009 14:37

I did a test 2 weeks ago when i felt a bit odd, was negative. Am afraid to get one now it is all still here

Of course you can change the habits of a lifetime. Different baby, you're older (slightly, only slightly) and it happens.

You know the Tank that fed every 2hrs day and night forever and forever? Did she stop my periods returning at 16 weeks? No. I was robbed.

You may be ovulating too.

largeginandtonic · 29/04/2009 14:39

Oh feck.

Ok so 7 children, one a 15wk exclusively bf one and you took a hpt. That means, somewhere, you're fitting in sex too?

Bloody hell I love you. You're like a real life super hero.

largeginandtonic · 29/04/2009 14:42

Always time for sex SOH. Have to fit it in before dh is off for 6 months...

Bloody clearblue advert taunting me.

Am off out shopping when they all get in from school, will get a test. The twins will spy it and LAUGH at me.

largeginandtonic · 29/04/2009 14:45

School run now.

I expect to come back to lots of "noooooo, impossible" ok?

OP posts:
Cadmum · 29/04/2009 14:46

Thanks SOH! I was also thinking about elevating you to HERO status...

BTW I might laugh too. (But ONLY because I know that you would be delighted with another 'little teeny, tiny one'.)

ShowOfHands · 29/04/2009 14:46

nooooooo, impossible.

Did the hospital not test you yesterday?

largeginandtonic · 29/04/2009 14:48

I denied all possibility of being pregnant as i just couldnt face hearing anything more yesterday.

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 29/04/2009 14:52

I understand but you must face up to the consequences of having unprotected sex.

The sex okay, I understand. DH is a herculean God, I get it. But why is he not wearing 17 forms of protection during the act? You need to think of it in terms of a war defence, you know pillboxes and the like.

rainbowdays · 29/04/2009 16:37

LargeG&T - nooooo impossible: for your "body to change the routine of a lifetime" of course you are pg Sorry could not resist, but yes it is possible that you are pg, but more likely that you are just having one of those "still b-fing, no af back yet, feels like I'm pg" hormone surges. Are you looking for #8 already? Do let us know how the test turns out.

largeginandtonic · 29/04/2009 19:11

Phew negative.

Think i may be done with 7 Rainbow. DH away at Sea a bit too much in the next 3 years, they change so quickly when they are tiny i would hate him to miss out.

I have been on the mini pill for 3 weeks, was nervous something may sneaked in before.

ShowOfHandsNoLongerKissesKunes · 29/04/2009 20:08

Maybe the mini pill's making you feel weird. Maybe you're poorly. Maybe your periods are returning.

And not that you don't make the most beautiful and wonderful children, but I am pleased for you that you're not expecting no. 8. Yet.

JamInMyWellies · 30/04/2009 18:13

AprilMeadow · 30/04/2009 19:11

largeginandtonic · 30/04/2009 20:31

Bugger off you lot, i would have expected tea and sympathy not laughs

OP posts:
AprilMeadow · 30/04/2009 20:37

You know we love you really xxx

Cadmum · 30/04/2009 21:44

I must have missed this yesterday.

Glad it was negative BUT be careful!

SuziSeis · 30/04/2009 21:46

congrats if they are in order large g and t

respect for bf ing them all such a long time!

ShowOfHandsNoLongerKissesKunes · 30/04/2009 21:47

But oh Octavia or Octavius, has to be done, surely?

You can't get pg anyway, you're having one for me next.

largeginandtonic · 30/04/2009 22:02

Thank you ladies

BF is the only way when you are such a lazy relaxed mother

I do love the names SOH... but not for a few years. I am sort of hoping the broodiness vanishes with time

OP posts:
Cadmum · 01/05/2009 11:32

I hope for your sake that the broodiness does disappear. OTOH you are such a great mum that another teeny one wouldn't be so bad.
