Missed period - quite common or a sign that something is wrong?

We've been ttc since December when I had my Mirena coil removed. My cycles have been really short since then, I think due to the coil even though the GP disagrees .

Last month I had a missed period. At first I thought my cycles were just going back to normal, but after a 50 days cycle I think I just missed a period.

I wasn't stressed, nothing's changed, I'm not over or under-weight, I didn't have a chemical pregnancy, at least I never tested positive throughout the cycle.... So what could have happenned? Is this common? Can it really happen without a reason?

Thanks!

I didnt get a period for three consecutive months just after wedding and while travelling. Doctor said my body was probably just feeling under stress and that it wasnt the right time for babies so shut down. Sure enough, it came back as soon as I arrived in London and settled in. Now four months pregnant, conceived second month of trying. So, I think it can just happen.

thanks twinsister. I hope it's just something that simple, a missed period.... but the fact that that I've had abnormally small cycles since having the coil removed and then a really long one, makes me think somethingis not right....

Will I get any sympathy from a gp?
