I had two loop cone biopsies in my 20's. In my 30's I became pregnant for the first time and at the end of my 2nd trimester I had to have complete bed rest as my cervix was at 1.6cm. My waters broke earlier than planned and after waiting 48hrs to see if anything happened naturally I was induced. My son was born a healthy 2.9 kg (approx. 6.3 pounds) at 36 weeks.

I am pregnant again with number 2 (now at 13weeks). My cervix is 2.5cm should be 5cm - 7cm. There has been talk about having a 'cerclage' however I have taken the advice that it would be risky with my cervical history and that in fact it could do further damage to my already damaged cervical wall.

Regardless of having a cerclage or not I would have to 'rest up' as much as possible'.

Hope this gives you a little more in-sight??
