Low Body Temp - TTC

Hi
I have in the last couple of weeks been charting my body temp, with the help of the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. For a lot of the days, my temeperature when I wake is too low for the chart in the book. For example on Monday it was 96.80 and Tuesday 96.93. Has anyone else had this problem? I have previosly been tested for thyroid, but the results of the test were fine - I am however starting to question that.
Thanks x

My body temp is also low, before ovulation it was common for me to get 96.5-96.7. Sometimes even as far down as 95.8! They keep testing my thyroid, and my TSH is getting higher, but I'm not diagnosed with 'hypothyroidism'. You may want to have your thyroid checked again just in case.

The good news, in my situation was that it didn't prevent me from getting pregnant. It took a year the first time (but that was due to PCOS), I miscarried, then got pregnant again 3 months later. Now 22 weeks with a boy.

You should still be able to detect ovulation through the temp shift if it is happening, having low body temp won't stop that.

Good luck!

You really need to chart your cycle for at least three months to start seeing any patterns so don't jump to any conclusions just yet. Keep going and look out for the thermal shift. It's unfortunate that the chart doesn't go low enough for your temp but mine before now has been too high for my charts and we've just put it in anyway, marking what it was.

Good luck
