Semen analysis cost

Does anybody know how much it would cost to go and have semen analysis done privately without insurance? We could have it done on the NHS but the wait is so long!

Hi - I may be confused about the type of semen analysis you are looking for but Im wondering why you are having to wait so long on the nhs (unless its the area you live in?). My dh had his done on the nhs within 2 wks - just phoned the Path lab of our local hospital and booked it (no gp referral needed). Think its approx £40 for private analysis (at least thats what we were quoted - but could have been that the price was linked to the vasectomy reversal procedure we had already paid for).

Depends on where you are. In London it is about £100 and in Brighton (Agora Clinic) it is £80. But there is also the question of whether you would want to see a consultant to help you understand your results. That could be another £100-£180, depending on the consultant.

The best thing to do would be to call some clinics and see what they would do for you.

Its just a standard semen count as we've been trying for a baby for a year and they've suggested my husband has a semen count along with me having variuos bloodtests done. I think it must just be the area we live in, i booked it last week and the appointments not till the end of July! Which is why i'm looking into getting it done privately.
