Hello ladies, I was wondering if you could help me with my question.
I've been keeping track of my cycles now for
some time, mainly using OPKs and EWCM.
A typical cycle sees me get a +ve OPK at, say, 1pm on day 15, following by what I
feel is ovulation on day 16, in the afternoon.
However, I still seem to get +ve OPKs on day 17, in the afternoon!

So, my question! Is it possible to ovulate,
but then to get a +ve OPK the following day?

Any insight welcome!

Yes....sometimes you may have caught the rise of LH as it was going up and then again before it had gone down. Start focusing your efforts when you get the first positive.

Personally, once you have a pretty good idea of when you are likely to ovulate, I would start trying a few days before you expect a positive on the OPK and right through a few days after suspected ovulation.

doulalc, many thanks for your reply.
I did wonder if that was the reason why -
the 'up' and 'down' slope of the surge!
Just wondered if this was common because
whenever I've read anything about OPKs,
they never mention the fact that you can
ovulate but then continue to get +ve on your
test, i.e. the info is always written
that you will get a +ve, you will then ovulate and then you will get a -ve!

This is the very problem with OPK's - it is possible to have more than one LH surge throughout the month. Also such a surge is not automatically followed by ovulation.

If your periods happen to be irregular in nature as well they are certainly not worth using as they can give false readings.
