Stupid sex question

God, I feel like an adolescent asking this.

Have one DS, just over a year old and was not planning on TTC number 2 until next year. I have long cycles normally, around 35 days but this month there's still no sign of AF and it's CD 38 today. I have none of the normal AF signs (although no pregnancy symptoms either).

I shouldn't be pregnant, we use condoms and nothing has split, but sometimes we're a bit "naughty" before we actually put it on. DH hasn't come without a condom on and it's harder than that to get pregnant, isn't it? I'm just feeling soooo un periody I'm starting to imagine all sorts.

I had a 38 day cyle at the end of last year but I was feeling like AF was coming for a day or 2 before it did and this time...nothing.

Someone slap me please.

If it's not shown up in a week get testing.

Hi feelafool It is theoretically possible to fall pregnant without him finishing, but quite unlikely. I suppose it depend on how "naughty" you are and how often. Why don't you just test to put your mind at rest as surely the more you stress, the later AF will be?

Hi Neeko. well not all that often and as I say not naughty to the extent of him coming but probably semi naughty right around ovulation. And I'm worrying about the whole "dribble" aspect.
I think I'm probably just having a looong cycle. Thanks for the cyber slaps.

It doesn't sound likely but the only thing thats going to tell you for sure is a test - well that or AF turning up. Does sound like stress is causing AF to be late though.

Not a disaster as much as rather bad timing. Was planning on going freelance in July and wanted a bit longer to build up a client base before having another mat leave.

feelafool - quite a lot of fluid can come out before final ejaculation happens especially if your DH has been very aroused for quite a long time. It only takes one as you know .... but to be honest if you are taking the risk and you are both enjoying that feeling of risk then I think you would not really mind if it happened.

Best test to put your mind at rest and be happy whatever happens. Sometimes things do not happen according to plan.

Thank God for that! Just been to the loo and my period is clearly getting off to a (slow) start. Thanks for the replies, I will be being A LOT more careful from now until next year!

Aaaargh!

STILL no period. Goddamit I'm going to have to do a test, aren't I? This is doing my head in. Felt all safe in the knowledge period was coming on Saturday but all I got was a little bit of pink spotting over the next 2 days. That's all stopped now and back to normal CM. Now I'm worrying that was implantation and I am pregnant. Which is mad, I mean the chances must be soooo slim. So then I think it's just a weird period this month, but CD 42 now for God's sake!!!

I feel periody but that's no indication of anything as I felt periody at this stage with DS.

I'm going to have to do a test just to put my mind at rest.

Gnaah! So, if I buy a test, can i do it straightaway or do I have to wait for tomorrow's first wee?

Sorry for waffling. feels better to write it all down, can't tell anyone cos it's too embarrassing to talk about "dribble".

Well, they say that FMU is usually the best, but if you AF is definitely late, you may well get a line if you test anyway...

Maybe get a pack of two just in case...

I usually have a 30 day cycle and am regular as clockwork but my period was four or five days late last month. There was no chance I was pg though so I would test to be on the safe side, at least you will know!

Well I am quite irregular (cycles this year of 34,34,30,32,38,33,36) and I have had, years ago, a 59 day cycle and I wasn't sexually active then so wasn't pregnant and it wasn't a mmc or anything. I know really I'm not pregnant but the more days it doesn't turn up, the more I torture myself about the possibilities. I nearly bought a test on Saturday but then I got a teeny bit of spotting and thought, ah ha here it is!
Right, going out to buy one.

Don't mean to throw you a total by-ball, but my friend swears she got preg by being 'naughty' with her DH before he put a condom on. I'm taking her word for this, as, clearly I wasn't there with them!

Anyway, so now they have an 8 mnth old DD.

The early detection tests can pick up hormones in wee any time of the day - but you better buy a two pack just in case. Happy Weeing! let us know, so we can warn teenagers...

My MIL and FIL (and I hate myself for knowing this) were using condoms and the pill and a small amount of naughtiness caused SIL. I know too much about my ILs.

Test.

Any stress around usual time of ovulation that could have delayed it?

I'm back with a 2 pack of tests. Says it's sensitive to 25mlU of HCG and 99% accurate, so should puit my mind at rest one way or another. So, can i just have abig cup of tea and wee on it straightaway?

Feeling more periody by the minute, so probably just wasted 6 euros. (No tesco cheapies in this part of the world).

Having a big glass of water and boiling the kettle
