just been to the toilet and wiped myself and the mucus is exactly like the white eggy stuff. Does that mean ive ovulated and its too late ttc or that i am ovulating.

Im not really trying now just sort of charting as dh and i would like to edge our best bets and try for a girl later on and i know timing is quite important etc. Weve only ever tried when i was ovulating according to the stick and have two boys.

Egg white type cervical fluid is produced before ovulation, but sometimes there can still be some there once you've ovulated, so on it's own, it's not an exact indicator.

You should consider yourself fertile any time you see the mucus. Sperm can live in it for up to a week if the conditions are right.

Get busy when you first see it and keep going till it disappears After around 3 days, it will reach a peak, which generally means you are literally about to ovulate - then it tails off.

I would say that as with everything, the time it lasts will vary from person to person.

I am still breastfeeding, so my hormones are a bit odd, but sometimes I could have EWCM for up to a week!

Just adding my vote to getting hold of TCOYF ... fantastic book. My third, conceived when I was 42, would not be here without it. (On the other hand, according to the timing of intercourse theory, he should have been a she. So I wouldn't put too much faith in that!)
