21 Blood Test - can anyone explain?

have been ttc for a while now.
Had 21 blood tests done, but as my periods are irregular had to count back 7 days from when I expected my period. But period came 3 days earlier than expected so thought the results would be abnormal and would have to do test again.
However, test has come back normal

Will of course speak to my GP about this, but in the meantime, can anyone shed any light?

What was the result?.

If your periods are irregular then you should be investigated to see if either problems with the thyroid gland or a condition called polcystic ovaries is to blame. Both these are common causes of irregular periods.

If periods are irregular as well the test can be done according to calendar days (not many GPs seem to know that though).

You should also be having a day 3 test done to compare your LH level against that of your FSH level. Ideally these two should be the same, an imbalance of LH to FSH would possibly be indicative of PCO.

If GP is clueless as well I'd ask for a referral to a gynae at a subfertility unit at hospital. These problems as well are often outside a GPs remit so you're better off being referred sooner rather than later.

All I was told was that the results were normal - mind you, I only spoke to receptionist.
What I meant by my periods being irregular is that sometimes they are 30 day cycles, sometimes 33 days.
Have just had a Day 3 test done, so awaiting those results.

I'm also having a scan to look at a polyp which they found I had a few years back when I was TTC DD.

does this make any sense to you?
stuck in a hotel in Birmingham at the moment, so can't go to see GP

Some types of polyp can release hormones which interfere with ovulation so it should be looked at further. These are otherwise benign in nature.
