No - sorry x

cluckyagain · 30/03/2009 17:05

Friend lost one though and was told to have a D&C - she didn;t and they re scanned and found a second baby - he's 12 now!

Breizhette · 30/03/2009 17:06

Yes. How many weeks are you?
I=My first scan just showed the sac but no baby. I had to wait 2 weeks until the next one. DS is now 8-month old.

cupofteaplease · 30/03/2009 17:07

Breizhette- how far along were you when they only saw the sac?

artifarti · 30/03/2009 17:18

Yes. I was scanned at 6+2 and there was a sac but no fetal pole or heartbeat (apparently there should have been by then). Two weeks later, there he was. DS is now 7 months.

Has this happened to you? It's a very difficult time. The sonographer said that she thought I might have had a mc but she wasn't sure. I then had to spend Christmas and NY not knowing. I think I cried non-stop. There's not a lot you can do to make it easier, I'm afraid. Just be strong and keep yourself busy.

deanychip · 30/03/2009 17:24

no trace of anything in my uterus.
think i was 4 weeks only.

uterus was thickened but empty.

this ever happened to you?

OP posts:
artifarti · 30/03/2009 17:28

4 weeks is very early to see anything much. Even a couple of days can make a big diffeence at this stage. When do you have to go back?

deanychip · 30/03/2009 17:32

next Monday which will be 10days since the last scan.
think i may be about 5-6 weeks.
I just feel SO pregnant, boobs killing me.

hcg levels more than doubling over 48 hours.
looks good doesnt it????

OP posts:
artifarti · 30/03/2009 17:39

Hcg levels doubling is good And boobs is good too. Every day that you don't get bleeding is good.

I was 100% sure of my dates but DS just wasn't ready to show up on screen. Funnily enough he was 17 days late too!

Stay positive. And come back and tell me what happens next Monday, I'll be thinking of you.

deanychip · 30/03/2009 17:58

I FECKING HATE THIS WAITING

OP posts:
Breizhette · 30/03/2009 20:54

I was 5 weeks I think. The waiting drove me insane,

monkeybumsmum · 30/03/2009 21:39

deanychip, I read that nothing will be seen via a scan, internal or otherwise until CD 31-33. If you were only 4 weeks at the time of the scan then it makes sense that they didn't see anything as it would've been too early.

The fact that your hcg is going up so much is great.
This week is going to go so slowly for you... The waiting is awful and I bet you can't think of anything else.

Will have my fingers crossed for good news for you next Monday x

Higglepig · 30/03/2009 21:55

I had a scan at what should have been 6.5 weeks, there was a sac but no heartbeat. I was abroad and was told the baby wasn't developing properly and I would either have MC or they could give me something to make me miscarry, which I declined thankfully. Had a heavy bleed a few days later and assumed that was it but then the bleeding stopped. A week later I still 'felt pregnant' and a scan showed a 7-week foetus with a heartbeat. She's 15MO now.

So there's definitely plenty of reason to be hopeful. But arti's right, the waiting is hell. Wish you all the very best for next Monday. x

Warmseabreeze · 31/03/2009 10:49

Deanychip the hcg levels sound promising!! My fingers and toes are crossed for you x

pinkie08 · 31/03/2009 11:21

It happened to me too. I had early scan cos of miscarriage history and they saw sac but nothing developing. Gynae made me wait and my DD is now 8.

Keep hoping XX

artifarti · 05/04/2009 17:36

Good luck for tomorrow, Deanychip. Hope it's good news. x

mears · 05/04/2009 17:39

4 weeks way too early to see anything conclusive on a scan. Much better to be at LEAST 7 weeks TBH. You might not see anything on next scan either sadly.

mears · 05/04/2009 17:40

BTW - the answer is yes it can happen

kate132 · 23/06/2009 09:21

Concieved using clomid and metaphormin last period 7th May had early scan yesterday which found thickened uterus but no sign of anything else. Blood normal to high but am at my wits end - can anyone shed any light on what could be happening. No cramps or bleeds yet...another scamn booked for tomarrow and new bloods but the waiting is driving me mad.
