Did I test too early or am I out for this month?

Hi everyone,

I am on day 26 of a 27 or 28 day cycle, and did a first response today which was a BFN. (Boo hoo). I am so cross at myself for testing already, as I really didn't want to, but clearly I have no will power at all.

I now feel very miserable, as I am sure a First Resonse would pick it up at this point wouldn't it.

So - what are your opinions? Is there still a chance?

hmm - well everyone is different, but I remember testing on day 28 of a clockwork 29 day cycle and got a BFP in the middle of the afternoon ...

Do you know when you ovulated, or have any symptoms ?

Hey HoldYourHorses - lol - conception oblivion. Of course, your situation is not a laughing matter but we need to find the humor in it sometimes or else we will go crazy. In my experience, those tests have always been accurate and I've tested as early as 4 days before my expected period. I was insane this last month and did 3 tests - 1 5 days before, 1 3 days before, and just to make sure it was a BFN - 1 on the expected day! What an obsessive retard I was. Anyway, I wish I could tell you different but good luck to you for next month. Looks like we'll be ovulating around the same time in April...

Ha! "obsessive retard" I did the same thing last month! It was my first IUI and I just couldn't resist THREE TESTS, so much hope and so little hormone to trigger that second little line! Oh well there's always next month.

Hold - I know it's agonizing, but just wait a day or two and you should know, anything is possible. Chin up!

No symptoms really - or actually hundreds if I think about it for more than a minute! My biggest symptom, which I've had in all 3 pregnancies so far (2 miscarriages) is feeling like my period is coming too early. I feel like that today, 2 days early. Maybe it just is coming early though! You never know do you? I am like you Daynee... very, very obsessive! Need to relax. But how?????

I really do hate TTC. Roll on Thursday. or Friday... I should know for then for sure. Do you ever feel like you end up wishing your life away when TTC?

Am on day 21 what could be a 25, 26 or 28 cycle. BFN with first response today , feel like af round corner so don't know why i didn't teat myself with my tenner instead.

Af due SAt, Sun or Monday so am trying to hold out till Sat, Think you can do it?

Yey let's go mad together! We are both clearly of the same crazy mind set, testing ridiculously early! So throughout the day my periody symptoms have come on very strong. Unusual for me on 26. First response says noooooooooooooo though. Damn that silly First Response... what does it know anyway?

So how positive are you that this is the month for a BFP?

As far I know, you could still be positive. Sometimes it just takes longer to get a hormon level that is high enough to be detected. So I hope you will not get your period and can test again in a couple of days. Good luck

TO be totally honest, weekend i really thought yep this month, was starving, was searching out my soap that i only have when pg. have had heartburn..

However, now i feel as if i'm about to come on, did stupid first response with fmu today and nada, Last couple pgs for me first response has told me 5, 6 days before af due, so now not holding out any real hope.

That said, why do i now want to do the other test in the pack, what is it with us and 2 pack tests?

Gonna get some pound shop ones for my obsession, does anyone think they're accurate?

On a lighter note, my niece got a BFP on saturday, with af dues this Weds, so 5 days before, after 4 pos tests, she's still asking me what i think? Do i think its just her body playing tricks? Bless her.

Sorry sorry sorry I couldn;t wait till Saturday! But... I tested again just a moment ago and got a + !!! Although it's not a BFP - more of a LFP (little faint positive!) but it is still day 27 of a possible 28. To be honest though, I'm in shock. I don't really believe it yet, and will see what happens tomorrow. I feel so periodly it doesn't feel like it could be for real.

How are you doing? In my experience of poundland tests they are accurate but not worth doing until AF is quite a few days late.

I'm sure in a day or 2 your LFP will turn into a BFP.

Tested today on day 22/23 of 26-28 and clearblue digital says no. Stupid technology, what do they know?

I'm sure i'll be on the January bus, so didn't want to have to wait till next year!!!

Many congrats HYH - you are fab!! I have no patience too. Your post has cheered me up no end. I feel awash with symptoms and am on day 27 of 28/29 day cycle and just got BFN with Clearblue. Am a bit ticked off as felt so sure. Still I will wait until SAT before doing next one in box. I am soooooo very pleased for you .

Thanks very much liaghen and tinateaspoon, although I really don't believe it yet. Roll on tomorrow for the second test in the pack. I have heard that you can't really get a false positive, but I'm still not convinced!

tinateaspoon keep us updated if you hold out till Sat to test. I'm very impressed at that kind of will power. It's taken every ounce of willpower I have not to do the second test today! They really are evil things.

liaghen I'm so with you about wanting a this year baby. My first miscarriage baby would have been due next week. It would really help me get through it if I was pregnant again.

Not much we can do but hope though is there!

Your posts have really made me feel more 'normal'..have been going off the scale crazy all week waiting for AF!

She was due to rear her ugly head at the weekend...have been trying to be patient but cannot the resist the urge to pee on a stick at least 2 / 3 times a day

LFP's so far...a little anxious as have had 2 mc's in the past...hoping this one might stick!?

maybebaby, congrats to you too from the sounds of it! Any BFP's yet? Fingers crossed it sticks for you. The paranoia is intense after 2 miscarriages I know. I am running to the toilet constantly to check nothing has gone wrong!

I got a pregnant on a clearblue digital today so that's it - testing over for me... I'm going to try and relax. I spoke to my DR whose been fantastic, and she thinks I can have an early scan (7 weeks). I'll have to arrange it nearer the time though. I'm going to try and even forget i'm pregnant until the, as after 2 missed miscarriages I'm not going to believe it till I see a heartbeat!

Hi - just posted a rant on the Dec 09 ttc thread! Did test this morning and got BFN but no AF either. Feel I am going bonkers!!

HYH good luck for the early scan, something else to wait for ... do try to relax, hard I know.

maybebaby it all sounds hopeful for you, am sending you relaxing vibes too. Its so very hard to believe all is all right when you have mc'd in the past. You just need to let time pass (yeah I know coming from me!!)

nother stupid bfn for me today too. Af still could be any day from tomorrow to Monday so am definately not hopeful now. Am not testing again, i've had enough this month, spent a bloody fortune.

Awww liahgen I know how you feel. Its bloomin annoying. I am not testing again and will see if a baby appears in Dec! No honestly I will wait for AF. Despite being so sure, I now think its unlikely. AF is due today but I can be late sometimes. And Clearblue can be used 4 days early so I really think its the end of the road for this month. Hi Tina, I'm with you now on waiting for AF or baby to show up, hey ho, one or the other will turn up in the end.

To top it all, I've got bloody thrush now, Thought i had cystytis starting in the week, so stocked up on juice etc, no joy, now i'm sure it's thrush so bought one of the canestan combi, bollox to not using it in PG, chances are so slim they're invisible so have gone ahead.

Sorry TMI alert, when i wiped with the tissue before inserting the pessary, paper was very slightly pink so either i rubbed too hard or i'm officially out.

TBH, I'd rather get AF out and over with now, get cracking on new year baby. Pah, 2010 is the time to have babies anyway don't you know.

Thanks for all your positive thoughts. I have been holding onto them but I think that this month may have been a chemical pregnancy after all

Started spotting quite heavily with cramps, feels like both times before when I have MC'd.

On a positive note I think this means that DH and I now qualify to have some testing done...hoping that a MOT will help then next one stick!

hiya, im in same boat! im cycle day 26 of a 28/29 cycle i ovulated on day 14 with my chart and lots of other signs, cm ect....
Anyway i bought the 1 step early pregnancy srtips from amazon as they are 10 miu and this morning it was negative but i also got the same company's ovuation strips and they did not work and a couple of other websites said they really are not that efective as they are so cheap, so my hopes are up a little now,
Had lots of symptoms of being PG though as i already have to little boys iv had the cramps, the tiredness but not being able to sleep very well, vivid dreams, metalic taste in mouth, sore boobs and lots of CM,
i am going rather mad here!
Its so good to know that other girlies are going throught the same thing and i can read your posts and think im not the only person going through this!
