Is it possible to get a false positive pregnancy test?

I thought it wasn't but someones arguing with me on another forum that you can.

Only very rare illnesses and the HCG trigger used in soem fertility treatment can cause false positives.

More common are ghost lines, or evaporation lines on the test, where a colourless line shows where a positive result would be, if it were not negative.

Some women entering menopause can produce low levels of hcg and thus get false positives too!

there was an entire thread devoted to people who had had false positives from a particular brand of pregnancy test, so perhaps not actually impossible?
