Period due soon, but instead i've 'spotted' ever so slightly...

Could i possibly be pregnant? They are usually the same each month, and it's due within the next week. Instead i've spotted a tiny, tiny amount- in fact DH pointed it out, as i hadn't noticed!

We aren't actually TTC, but i've looked up light spotting before a period on google, and got loads on women being pregnant.

Did a test just not, which was negative, but then if my period is due in the next week, i suppose it would be regardless- anyone know???

DH noticed as we were, er, getting intimate at the time

My periods have always been clockwork before, never with spotting then stopping.

The stupid thing is, i'm secretly hoping i am, but i know it's unlikely.

I suppose i'll have to wait a week?

Implantation bleed?

Caitni · 27/03/2009 14:17

Also at your DH noticing before you - just don't think mine's that observant!

I agree with Anniemac that a small amount of spotting before a period is quite usual for lots of women. I get it myself but it's so light that I only noticed because I was checking CM when I started to ttc. I think I must have always had it but just never saw it since it doesn't colour the paper when I wipe (god, the TMI alerts that my posts should come with!!).

BUT implantation spotting does also happen, which is why the googleverse is full of women who spotted and then had a positive result. Another possibility is that some women spot a little when they ovulate.

I'd say wait and see, which is frustrating but unfortunately the only way to save a fortune on testing.

Hope you get the result you want

Sorry just saw the other posts - still don't think mine would notice even if we were getting "intimate"

Just thought that there's also something called cervical erosion that can cause spotting. Unfortunately I know nothing at all about it but have seen it mentioned on here...

But will be keeping my fingers [secretly] crossed that you get the result you [secretly] want .

thanks for the secret wishes

Basically, my DH had the snip a few months ago but hasn't been tested to ensure it's worked. I took the pill for a bit, but we haven't been using precautions.

I'm going to push for him to get tested now though, because i can't keep thinking things like this if anything unusual happens- even if we do regret rushing into the snip a tiny bit.

Spoke to my mother and she had the implantation bleed with one of my brothers, but she said just wait and see, could just be a random thing happening.

Ah well.
