Can someone help me with 21 day progesterone tests please?

My doc wants me to have day 21 progesterone tests to investigate possible causes of my mcs... however, Murphy's law, day 21 of this cycle falls on Easter Saturday this month. My doctors surgery is closed on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Sunday and Bank Hol Monday, so is the hospital phlebotomy department. The hospital suggested I come as late as possible (6pm) to the phlebotomy department on Thursday which will be cd19. Anyone know if that'll give me a good enough progesterone reading?

Can you do Thurs and Tues just to be safe?

I'd need another booking form for that yellowflowers, but I can only ask....

Thanks for that anniemac. I am normally 27-29 days, I usually ov around cd 15-16 so perhaps the Tuesday would be a better option?

Anyone else with any ideas?

When I went for my day 21 test I was told that it should be in the middle of the luteal phase, ie that "day 21" is used as shorthand as that's when the "typical" woman with a 28 cycle and 14 day luteal phase would be in the middle of her luteal phase. I have 23/24 day cycles with a luteal phase of 13 days so I was told to get it done at 6 dpo.

So I'd think that late on Thurs would be the best option...but if you're worried about it then it may be best to just wait til next month? You might get a result that's too high/too low by being a couple of days out...

Thanks for that Caitni... I might beg ask the doc if I can have them done twice, on thursday and tuesday.

Just spoken to the doc, she said to have the bloods done on cd24 will be fine, as it'll be near enough the peak of my progesterone surge to give a good indication of the levels. Thanks everyone
