Hello all, been on here a while but mostly just reading stuff with the odd post here and there.

Am 28 and TTC with DH whois a bit older and has never had children either.

As I have PCOS have been prescribed Clomid. Have read lots about it on here and also been quite alarmed at all the side affects different people have reported.

Pleased to say that I took my first one yesterday around 5pm and so far so good, no horrible side affects.

Have a scan booked in on 8th Nov to see if I have any follicles and wondered if anyone else out there wants to chat who is going through the same thing.

Hi Tigresswoods

Who has prescribed the clomid to you - I would hope it is a gynae at a hospital subfertility unit rather than your GP.

Clomid should be given with a degree of caution to PCOSers as it is not always suitable to take (it can cause an exaggerated rise in LH levels which is something that many PCOSers have an excess of to begin with). You should be monitored whilst on this drug treatment via blood tests and ultrasounds - no monitoring is not acceptable. You should also be on this treatment for no more than six months.

I hope your scan is far sooner than 8th Nov!.
You should ideally be seen every month.

You may also find Verity's website on PCOS helpful too and it is also UK based:-

The thread on these pages called "TTC - Clomid thread" is also one I would suggest you look at as well. It may also be useful to you.
