Mittelschmertz on one side only - does this mean I'm only oving every 2nd month?

Hi gals

Newbie here. Have just started to take notice of my cycle as we are in the hell of waiting to TTC (long story including long haul flights and family weddings). Anyhoo, have noticed that I only feel mid-cycle ov pain on my right hand side, and it seems like it's only every second month. This might be normal but why change a habit of a lifetime and not obsess over this!! Any advice v v gratefully received

Thanks!

You do have a dominant side and you are more likely to feel it on your dominant side, this does not mean you are only ovulating bimonthly.

Thanks chocolate, that's really reassuring! It's so easy to jump to the worst conclusion, isn't it!

Yep. I did the whole paranoid thing for years. Now I'm considering sterilisation because I am worried I will get pregnant!

I was told by medical practitioner that although you ovulate roughly half the time from each side it's not every other time. Rather it's more like tossing a coin, so roughly 50/50 heads or tales but not consistently one then the other. Therefore if you are feeling it every other month unlikely to be this.
