OK sorry if I sound hysterical.
I am 10DPO and last night (weak urine) did two internet cheapie tests which came back with a v faint line. Now, I have looked at them this morning, and the line is much narrower than the control line and I don't know what to think. I did another test this morning with FMU and the same thing has happened. CLearly visible line, but definitely not nearly as wide as the control line. I have used these tests LOTS of times before and never had anything resembling a line at all (I have probably done 20 tests). What does anyone think? If it's narrow does that mean it's prob evap? Any help v v v much appreciated!!! Thanks

Also, it is v v faint, but definitely there - DH can see it and he is v sceptical about most things!

A line is a line I think, prob too early to give a strong response, try again in a couple of days and see if its stronger ( i know waiting is horribel tho!)

liahgen · 13/03/2009 08:29

post a pic on yopur profile.

if it came up in the allotted time then sounds to me like tentative congrats may be in order.

belgo · 13/03/2009 08:29

how long did it take for the line to appear? What colour is the line?

duchesse · 13/03/2009 08:38

A line is a line. As long as you don't wait too long to read the result. Wait five or six days and try again.

katster37 · 13/03/2009 08:39

The line is pink and came up in the allotted time, but it is v narrow. On all 3. I don't know what to think, it is driving me mad! I will post a pic tonight when I get back from work.

mine on 10DPO were narrower than the control line too. Sooo faint but so long as they are pink and not white then its not going to be a evaporation line. Also the fact it is on three of them sounds very promising.

Took me til about 13DPO to get a decent positive and now i am 19DPO (and 5 weeks pregnant on saturday) I am getting strong positives! So stick with it.

I was using ebay cheapies supposedly sensitive and got very very very faint lines- tried a tesco cheapie (well posh for me!) and the line came up clear as day. Try another brand too?

katster37 · 13/03/2009 10:18

Thanks thandeka. I am alternating between feeling secretly optimistic and not wanting to get my hopes up! I do also feel naauseous and my boobs hurt so much I caught myself holding them as I walked down the street!! . REAAAAAAAALLY want to be pg!!! Have a superdrug test at home but was worried it was too early for that. Will try tomorrow at 11DPO. Thanks.

Narrower is fine.
If it is in the right place, has colour and pops up within the time limit, that's a positive.
Congratulations

And congratulations to you too, Thandeka. Do we think it was all that water that did the trick? [smug know-it-all emoticon ]

Thandeka · 13/03/2009 10:55

haha Mrs Happy- I read somewhere the WHO reccomends 4.5 litres a day for pregnant women!!!! Seriously I WILL drown!

Have upped intake but still prob don't quite achieve your greatness on the water intake! But yes I think it may have added to the effect (that and 13 sessions accupuncture, 1 session reflexology and a major career opportunity that I was considering going for and stopping TTC for a while so I could go for it!)

katster37 · 13/03/2009 13:07

Oh, MRsHappy I really hope so!!! I keep inspecting them and each time I look the line seems to get fainter! I keep telling myself it's only 10DPO though although if it's BFN tomorrow morning I may well spend the weekend in tears!
Wow - Thandeka that's a lot of water.... I hope you work close to a toilet!!

PootleTheFlump · 13/03/2009 13:48

That's exactly how I found out - wasn't really a line at all, just a colour change, it does get stronger and now have a proper 2 line picture. Scan on weds showed 5 wk yolk sac, so fingers crossed it's the same for you

katster37 · 13/03/2009 17:19

OK well I have just got home and tentatively done another test.... It came up within 30 seconds, much stronger thicker pink positive line!!! OMG.... Am only 10DPO... Eeeek!!!

MrsHappy · 13/03/2009 18:05

That's fab. Congratulations.

Alibobster · 13/03/2009 20:28

Katster, brilliant news, very very pleased for you

biggernow · 13/03/2009 20:43

just don't panic if you do a digital and it is negative, you may need to wait to get a pos on those....mine were faint at first, but negs on digital until 14dpo...... then BFP'S!

Congratulations katster!

Thandeka · 14/03/2009 07:10

brill! congrats! you better up your water intake too then

StealthPolarBear · 14/03/2009 07:24

Congratulations!

katster37 · 14/03/2009 08:01

Thanks ladies - I just logged in and saw all the congrats posts, that's so lovely. I did a Superdrug one this morning (I know, I know... ) and it had a lovely thick dark pink line! Yay! biggernow - I have a digital, but think I will save it as I don't think I could cope with a neg today! Eeeek...

katster37 · 14/03/2009 08:02

PS thandeka I am actually drinking a ton - did you find you were v v thirsty? I woke in the night with a major thirst and then this morning had a massive dehydration headache.. I that normal?!

liahgen · 14/03/2009 18:27

katster,

congratulations, wishing you a happy, healthy 9 mths. x

sarah76 · 14/03/2009 19:07

Congratulations!

I had same thing with my first pregnancy. Had done those cheapies soooooooo many times and was very experienced in what 'negative' looked like. When I got the faintest line I tried showing DH, and he didn't believe me, couldn't see it! Got a little stronger the next day, and finally went for a digital. No denying it then!

AnnasBananas · 14/03/2009 21:30

Congratulations!!
