Nine week scan question

Hi all,
I'm having a scan next Thurs (if I get that far!)at nine weeks. It's an early scan because my last two pgs ended in m/c. Both times I had bleeding and then was scanned, to find there was nothing there, eg no heartbeat, apart from a pg sac.
Is it possible that if I don't have any bleeding this time, I could still go for the scan and there will be nothing there?
Am just so scared after the last two times.
I am constantly checking for bleeding, but then I'm thinking there may be nothing there anyway, with our without bleeding.
Any advice gratefully received!

hmm yes, I think it is possible to have a non-viable pregnancy but no bleeding,
but in your position I would take lack of bleeding as a really good sign. hope it all goes well

You poor thing, it's no use me saying try to stop worrying about it as unfortunately we don't have a "worry on/off" switch - if only.
I'm afraid i had an empty sac at 9 weeks and didn't have any bleeding, in fact i felt really pregnant -morning sickness, the lot. I just don't think you can tell either way until you go and get the scan - but remember, it's much more likely to be ok than not. only 25% of pregnancies end in m/c so you're more likely to be ok.
Fingers crossed for you, good luck xx

Thank you.
I'm so worried about it, but trying to be positive!

how far along were you when you m/c before gateau?

Gateau · 10/03/2009 14:49

Well, the last time, I started to bleed at exactly nine weeks. But they thought the baby had died several weeks before that. I later had to have the surgical intervention to miscarry properly.
And the time before that, I can't honestly remember when I started to bleed. It was before nine weeks, I think.
And the time before that - 4.5 years ago - it was around eight weeks.

awww it's no wonder you're so worried, this is sort of the critical period for you.
can they not fit you in any earlier for a scan?

I work three days and don't want to take time off as I don't want them to guess. So this was the first day that suited.
The most important thing I haven't mentioned is that I do have a 22 month old beautiful, healthy DS.
DS was so easy to conceive and I had such a straighforward pregnancy with him. I never knew it would be so hard to have a successful pg again! The two mcs came after I had him.
