Hi, I'm new on this board and was hoping someone could please give me some advice. My fiance and I are getting married this summer and we want to start trying to conceive as soon as we're married, and I was wondering if there is anything I should try to do or get sorted out in advance to try to help things go smoothly. I suppose I was thinking in particular of things that might take a while to sort out, like do I need any vaccinations updated, or should I be trying to boost levels of certain vitamins etc? Sorry if I sound like a bit of an idiot but none of my friends have children yet, and though some of his do they all speak French and I'm not sure my vocabulary extends that far!

Thanks very much!

Folic acid is a must when you are trying. You can buy it in most shops. This is all I took with my first and am currently trying for another. There is a limit though, I think you can only take it for 6 months whilst trying then have a break from it, I will check. You also have to take folic acid for the first 3 months whilst you are pregnant.

Good luck with the wedding and pending trying.

Thanks very much! I'll look in to that, I'm guessing that the limit will be on the box so I'll seek some out and see when I should start taking it. Thanks again

I can't find the time limit on anything, I think I may well have dreamt that sorry.

I would recommend a visit to the pharmacist and they will explain what you need and for how long.
They will be a bit more reliable than my dreams I am sure

Lol. I'll chat to the pharmacist in Boots and see what she says. But I'm sure you're probably right, strange thing to dream otherwise
